This is from the KCNA (Korean Central News Agency) website..
Pyongyang, December 12 (KCNA) -- Dermot Hudson, chairman of the British Association for the Study of Songun Policy, posted on its website an article titled "True son of the people" on December 4 on the occasion of the 2nd anniversary of demise of leader Kim Jong Il.
Kim Jong Il devoted all his life to the happiness of the people as their true son, the article said, and went on:
He always led a frugal life and shared the destiny with the people.
He regarded it as an iron rule to believe in the people as in Heaven, the motto of President Kim Il Sung.
He made it a principle to bring a flower into bloom even on a rock if the people want to do so.
The Korean people are fully enjoying a happy life in the paradise provided by Kim Jong Il with his tireless efforts and patriotic devotion.
I could feel the love for the people shown by him while visiting the DPRK several times.
A lot of factories, enterprises and leisure complexes have been built in every part of the country to make contributions to improving the standard of people's living.
All these were the fruition of his warm loving care for the people and wise leadership.
His boundless devotion was based on the ardent love for the people and absolute trust in them and the iron faith in the validity and victory of the socialist cause.
Noting that the Korean people are the best in the world, he absolutely trusted in the people. He was convinced of the bright future of the country, saying that let's see who will laugh last.
Indeed, he was a true son of the people who believed in them as in Heaven and devoted himself to them.
Absolutely crackers

They are the only ones I really worry about. Iran might not be great, but they are sane enough not to actually use a nuclear weapon I think. The stories you hear about inside Korea are nuts.

He was still #2 till a few days ago, though 2 of his close aids had been 'dealt with' recently as well as his sister.

This was only a week ago & he was actually arrested in front of a party gathering.

Apparently official documents, film and photo's are being doctored to exclude him from them.

The saving grace of the Iranians is that their people, by & large, aren't as crackers as their leaders ... though the leaders are the ones doing the button holding & you wouldn't want to see them if they ever felt cornered.

There is absolutely no ousting Kim Jong Un though. None whatsoever. Not from outside of the country anyway.

It'll take a revolution of a magnitude the world has never seen and those people are too frightened to step up.

As long as he's still sat on his throne, he'll probably be happy to be the only person left in the country.

It's a powder keg

Sooner or later it will kick off in North Korea. The population has generally been kept ignorant of the outside world and told lots of porkies about how we're all out to get them etc etc. This is slowly changing with communications technology taking massive leaps in recent years. Some of this technology is starting to be smuggled over the border which will lead to some questions being asked of the regime. It'll be slow, but I think it will eventually take hold. If it kicks off you can bet the Chinese will move in from the north and the Koreans/Americans from the south, eventually leading to reunification, but with China trying to hold on to a bit up north.

Many have secret phones and South Korean / Western DVDs now apparently.

Of course owning either is probably a life sentence in a labour camp.

It's so barbaric it's unfathomable. Right to the deleting pics they're following Dictatorship 101.... but I don't think they'll last another decade.

Though the gap between them and the South is so big now that reunification will be immensely difficult. You're basically merging a modern economy with one in the 19th century. And they were bang level in 1972.. amazing.

Would take a long time. Think I read that net migration from eat Germany to west only stopped this year. Lord knows how long Korea would take. Must have proper messed with the nuts of the players who played each other a while ago. A lifetime of being told the rest of the world is starving and then suddenly you realise the fcukers are all 4 inches taller than you!

Extremely worrying and depressing. Makes you wonder though what he had got up to previously as part of that regime before falling out of favour.
It's the ordinary people I feel sorry for.

On a lighter note it amused me when they reported an air force training exercise on state TV and used footage of Top Gun to accompany it!

Halifax building society has created their annual list of most desirable places to live in the U.K, Wokingham (where I live) continued its slide having finished 1st in 2010 and 3rd in the following two years, it has now dropped to 8th. There seems to be a biased towards the south east (as usual) with only 2 entries in the top 50 coming in the north of England (Harrogate and Ryedale). The highest entry in the north west was Cheshire east at 105! Should point out that even the so called slum of Bracknell came 39th. Who says the media is now less biased now BBC is based in Salford. http://uk.news.yahoo.com/hart-remains-3 ... ml#3B6xBbz
The above post is complete bollox/garbage/nonsense, please point this out to me at any and every occasion possible.

Neither angry nor happy, just perplexed. Walking around Manchester today and seeing the plastic day trippers wearing scarves that were half scum and half spammers. I understand the concept when it comes to European games, but in the same domestic league?

The unofficial merchandisers make these for every Stretford game. So many people come as a once a season, even once-in-a-lifetime, visit they do sell in quite large numbers apparently.

I wonder if anyone bothered to make a Stretford V Bolton one ???

Not really, just able to read the sign as you walk through the gates. ;) The pitches on the bottom rec were pretty decent though.
