Appears I don't visit these pages so much when I'm not procrastinating at work! I therefore forgot to tell you all not to miss 'Sightseers' on Film4 tonight! Hope you saw it...

Just watched an old classic: The Prisoner of Zenda. What a great ending when the villain jumps up onto a castle windowsill, say "Fare well, I too shall return to fight another day!" and dives into the moat and swims off. Brilliant...

Just watched The Hobbit 2.
Surprisingly good.
Sorry if it ruins it for anyone but Bilbo survives.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Aye, I thought so. There's not many on here who think a 1952 film is recent.jaffka wrote:Just a jokeTANGODANCER wrote:Oops..jaffka wrote:Ffs tango, thanks for ruining what I had recorded.TANGODANCER wrote:Just watched an old classic: The Prisoner of Zenda. Youtube is great for watching those old programmes. I watched a while ago Threads, When the Wind Blows and Culloden.
The internet is a truly remarkable resource.

I wasn't impressed if I'm honest, which is a shame as I'd been looking forwards to it all year. Very dark, different feel than the first one entirely. Doesn't compare well with what Jackson did with LOTR in my view.bobo the clown wrote:Just watched The Hobbit 2.

Goodness knows what's left to put in the third 3hr film. They're almost up to the 'and they lived happily ever after' bit already!

Re: What are you watching tonight?
Agreed Clappers that Jackson hasn't half stretched it all out. Could have been done in one film ... certainly two. Though I did think that as a piece of entertainment it was enjoyable and well crafted. ... and another of those rare moments where 3D actually makes it more enjoyable.
I did play "Spot the Theme Park Opportunity" as well. Plenty of rides and great scenes available.

Re: What are you watching tonight?
It really does put me off watching any of them. The last 30 mins of Return of the King was interminably boring. I imagine long sections of these Hobbit films being the same.clapton is god wrote:I wasn't impressed if I'm honest, which is a shame as I'd been looking forwards to it all year.
