Tonight's Football

There ARE other teams(we'd have no-one to play otherwise) and here's where all-comers can discuss the wider world of football......

I'm going to advise Meulensteen via email to revive Fulham's alleged interest in £4m strike sensation David Ngog, Cut-price £3m bid should suffice.

You'd have a better chance with the Nigerian government minister with 50 million US email

Would appear not! It'll start getting brought up by the press now they are losing.

Ha! I can't say I blame him.
This bloke at Southampton apparently said rather than wrote:We don't want to be judged by the young, handsome players that we have. We don't want to be judged in that sense
Mmmkay.

Managers words misconstrued to fit argument or fuel story?

City 3-1 up now. They will walk the title, can't see anyone getting close now they are in their strides.

It's a shame because they just don't seem to have any style to them... it's brute force, but financially. The English Galacticos... just put a load of expensive players together and get something out of it. On those rare days when they play well together, they annihilate like they did against Norwich... the rest of the time they're just good enough to win the league. They are less than the sum of their parts for the bulk of the time.

Would love to see Arsenal or Liverpool, two teams who are much more reflections of their manager's work and ideas and teams that add up to something more than their parts, take on City for the title.

They still don't look the real deal to me away from home in that they still look likely to concede. My big worry is that Utd (a side that in their pomp could look unbeatable) have started to find their feet. If the others drop daft points they'll be poised to sneak in

I think City are better than the competition but lets be honest this is probably the weakest premier league there has ever been.

Quite the opposite Dan. More strong teams than ever before. Most teams into the Champions league knock out stages.

Think before you post.

I don't think any of the current top 5 teams in the world are English and it is a while since I said that.

Have to say that Lee Cattermole mistake is the best thing I've seen in ages.

Out of the top teams:

Man Utd: significantly weaker
Man City: Stronger than last season
Arsenal: Stronger than last season
Liverpool: Much stronger
Everton: Much stronger
Tottenham: Stronger on paper, yet to fulfil potential yet

The increased competitiveness of the league (usually a sign that overall it is weaker) has been skewed by Man Utd dropping so emphatically from their perch. Every other team at the top has become a better side.

And who would your top 5 be Dan?

Mine as it stands right now

1. Bayern Munich
2. Barcelona
3. Atletico Madrid
4. Real Madrid
5. Borussia Dortmund/Arsenal

I think both City and Chelsea would finish above 3 of those teams over a 38 game season

Dortmund aren't the same team they was. They have lost their best player in Gotze and are about to lose their next best in Lewandowski. Ath Madrid are good but not top 5.

Bayern are better than Barca also. Before you come out with some smart arse remark..

Bayern 7 - 0 Barca ( over 2 legs last year) battered home and away.

Spotted this on the live text:

"Kevin Davies makes amends after giving away the penalty that put his side behind, rolling home a cool finish after being put clean through by an accurate throughball."

It was well within the laws of the game, but he was played onside by an injured defender. The injured defenders teammates didn't know he was injured and pushed out, leaving Kev about 10 yards of space to exploit and he bobbled it under the keepers armpit from 7 yards
