Look, I'm not trying to convince you that one lot live in slittyeyedom and other don't, just that one lot can paint better than the other lot. I'm quite sure that if you researched it hard enough the difference between Fowey-folk and Truro-people would be equally self-evident.

But not any Muslims?

A friend of mine says this site is good. http://www.art.co.uk/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Thank you for the link.

I did read it earlier but waited to see if there were any others provided.

Maybe you don't understand this so I'll spell it out for you.
Things you cannot help being include: being Black, being a Romany, born in London, Ginger, Chinese, being blinded, Thalidomide affected.
Things you can help being include:being sun-tanned, a traveller, claiming asylum, being a Scientologist, being racist, being Muslim.

I think the second list might need rewriting... you can't help being claiming asylum?? you've let yourself down a bit there! ;-)

I've enjoyed the first 2 of 3 programmes on the art of the low countries - particularly episode 2, which starts in wonderful Utrecht (I lived there for a year) and covers the Dutch Golden Age. As a Dutch friend there once said to me - they were the original naval empire, and if a few things had been different, it could have been Dutch that became the world's lingua franca, not English.

iPlayer: http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b0 ... _and_Bust/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

(Watercolour fans will be disappointed, incidentally...)

No reason to be disappointed, Mummy. No denying that most of the world's great painings are in oils.

I'm mortified with how frightened I look, but it was made under very stressed conditions! Can't wait to do more and improve.

That was it? Three seconds? I hadn't even got my glasses on properly! The more you do the more relaxed you become btw so I'm sure you'll be waltzing through these things soon.

I don't think it's a recurring motif throughout the 20-minute programme. :mrgreen:

Perhaps there will be a link to the full version once it's gone out, Monty.

You didn't to me .... very good. Remember us, won't you.

Let us know when a fuller version is available. Kinty thought you were marvelous.

That's pretty cool.

A bit kitsch in places, but cool nonetheless!

(No watercolours, sadly.)
