To be fair, it did feel like we'd turned a corner the last few games.jonnycooper wrote::We have been good of late :...? When?
But good old Dougie couldn't keep up the illusion for long. His ineptitude was always going to come back to bite him on the arse.
He's a clueless, stubborn chancer.
Clueless. Absolutely clueless.

The man's a complete knob and should pack up his paint brush then feck off.
Gartside knows less about managers than I do rocket science, he's a complete dick.

There are 2 issues.
1 is that clearly he needs players to believe in him and it seems that there are only certain players (i.e. he's previously had) who do this. He's not unique in that, but worrying that he can't work with inherited players of reasonable pedigree and seems quite happy publicly castigating them.
2. is that he's brought in quite a few new players, presumably of the right character/ belief but (a) they've not exactly transformed us; and (b) he doesnt necessarily play them

Must surely be it now?! It'll cost less than a million to flirt Freedman. It has to be done before he relegates us.

Really, what is the point of Spearing?William the White wrote:Spot on. There's not a single member of the current back four that you feel you can trust. And, crucially no leader/organiser. And Spearing has been v disappointing in front of them.Harry Genshaw wrote:I wont be unhappy to see him go but I'm sure not even Jose Mourinho could fashion a decent defence out of the duffers we have at our disposal. Chap on Sky described us as Fred Karnos at the back. I've been thinking this for a while but just assumed I was uneducated.
He offers nothing going forward and provided no cover whatsoever today. There was a always a pocket of space for them to play in front of our centre backs.

yet, this forum - pretty universally - called on the club to sign Spearing... what do we know, eh?

Two players for one position is what managers dream of.thebish wrote:yet, this forum - pretty universally - called on the club to sign Spearing... what do we know, eh?
Is he selecting the right player for that position in your opinion?

of the two - i'd rather see medo on his own - as i have said before...
Re: Freedman out!
So you disagree with the manager and agree with the poster who say he should be on the bench and rested. What is your point?thebish wrote:jaffka wrote:Two players for one position is what managers dream of.thebish wrote:yet, this forum - pretty universally - called on the club to sign Spearing... what do we know, eh?

spot on. usually have that same thought after general elections..... democracy can't beat it (i didnt clamour for spearing to be signed)thebish wrote:yet, this forum - pretty universally - called on the club to sign Spearing... what do we know, eh?
Re: Freedman out!
my point was what I wrote... there was pretty universal clamour for us to sign spearing... nowadays people say he's gone to wank... so - as I said - what do we know...
my point is that this forum - on the whole - is pretty wank at recommending who we should sign.

Re: Freedman out!
I think people have said is that posters have said is that Spearing isn't playing to the standard expected and Medo should be in. I think you agree with that? Or do you think he is selecting the right player?thebish wrote:my point was what I wrote... there was pretty universal clamour for us to sign spearing... nowadays people say he's gone to wank... so - as I said - what do we know...

What do the posters know? Well nothing that matters as only Duggie is held to account for his decisions. Is that obvious?
Your posts are confusing, please clear up the confusion.

Re: Freedman out!
think the point is (as had been noted innumerable times) that any signing is a gamble, whether its a manager and his staff call or a call from the terraces. Doesn't matter whether you've had them on loan or they've played for you before. Theres too many factors at play and no guarantees. Difference is the manager is in more of a position to make a difference to that performance than we arethebish wrote:my point was what I wrote... there was pretty universal clamour for us to sign spearing... nowadays people say he's gone to wank... so - as I said - what do we know...

"The players here aren't good enough"
Yet, he continues to play the ones you know he's talking about ahead of plates that he's actually fecking bought! He's spent about £6m and hasn't managed to improve the side whatsoever. It's scandalous that he's still here. Scandalous that he talks so much shit and scandalous that he can get away with it.

Re: Freedman out!
I think Spearing was a very good signing. He's struggling at the moment but I'm a fan of his and I'm sure he'll perform much better next year. I think a few players, Spearing included, have become disillusioned, which makes their form worse and contributes to our problems.
He's a good player though and I'm glad we have him. He'll be back to his best soon, hopefully.

I don't think Spearing IS crap tbh, my opinion Freedman fails to get the best out of him for what ever reason!thebish wrote:my point was what I wrote... there was pretty universal clamour for us to sign spearing... nowadays people say he's gone to wank... so - as I said - what do we know...

Re: Freedman out!
Of course everyone wanted to sign him last year ... he played well and was our player of the season, and rightly.
This season he has seemed lost .... which I believe is down to DF's ability to confuse the shite out of people. He deserves to swao with Medo and spend some bench time. That doesn't make the decision to purchase him incorrect.
What's your point Bish ?

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

He has had plenty of time to post it but I don't think he will as he hasn't got a point and doing the usual of trying to stir it without committing.bobo the clown wrote:Of course everyone wanted to sign him last year ... he played well and was our player of the season, and rightly.
