Re: Freedman out!
We could put him on gardening league and promote Jimmy Phillips til the end of the season. Then have a clearout of the shite that are currently shaming the shirt. Then appoint a new CEO, new manager with a bit of fight and see if we can battle our way back to the Prem like we did under Sam against the odds.gizmothevoomer wrote:The fact that D Freedman is still manager is down to the fact BWFC have never been a sacking club and our current financial situation. Clearly he has not improved the club on the pitch we can not see what he has done behind the scenes with the youth section and operating within the constraints set by club.
If we changed manager I don't see us making the play offs this season, nor do I see us getting relegated under DF at this stage. therefore no great sense in getting rid and paying out compensation we can not afford. DF has the what's left of this season to prove he is worth trusting for the remainder of his contract.
What ever happens next season will see a drastically different team on the pitch given Knight, Eagles, Ngog, Holden and Mears are all likely to move on when their contracts expire. Which will get the major wage earners of the books no doubt others will leave as well.
I suspect that is way the board are thinking currently.
It's got to the point where pragmatism shouldn't come into it. I really don't think Jimmy would do any worse or take us down.
If we got really lucky someone would fall for Dougie's bullshit, take him on and we could stop paying him.
I think the fans would get behind Jimmy and he ight just surprise us with a decent run.

Re: Freedman out!
Because he's an arrogant prick who thinks he's cleverer than everyone else. He's just constantly destabilising the team and confusing and demotivating the players, creating no momentum at all.Palace wrote:Pick the same team and stick with it, danns, moritz & one other in CM and you will nail it.
Not sure why he's chopping and changing every game.
Goes on about how he knows football, Pearson is doing exactly the opposite to what Dougie preaches and look where it's got him.

If we sacked DF, does that cost affect the financial fair play thing? Or is it just transfers that are part of that?

Thanks for that.
So technically we could afford to get rid but it would affect bringing players in amongst other things with the FFP.

Re: Freedman out!
Jimmy Phillips isn't the answer.
We need someone who knows what they're doing in a situation like this.
Just like we did last year when we gave "anyone but Coyle" the job.

Re: Freedman out!
Probably a few back office staff they could get rid of still and Garty could help out with a wage cut or fecking off. But yes it could affect things. I think in the grand scheme of things it wouldn't make a massive difference as losing Ngog et al at the end of the season will have a far bigger impact on reducing outgoings. Getting rid of Dougie has to be based on whether he is competent to steer the club in the right direction over the next few seasons and not whether it will cost us a million or whatever. I know where I stand with that and most on here too, but it comes down to Uncle Eddie.ChrisC wrote:Abdoulaye's Twin wrote:It's everything from the tea lady to the performance (smirk) bonuses.ChrisC wrote:If we sacked DF, does that cost affect the financial fair play thing? It's a fine mess you've got us in to Garty

Re: Freedman out!
Looks like it, cannot see anything about the idiot being sacked.
Surely that result has got alarm bells ringing at board level.
I can see us sleep walking into relegation.

Re: Freedman out!
Unfortunately yes. Even I can't defend him now and I was all for giving him an opportunity but yesterday took the pee and my patience with him has run out. I will continue to support Bolton but I can no longer support that man as our manager.
Pfffft.
Re: Freedman out!
Not the answer but a cheap short-term fix that might pull the club together until we can do the mass clearout at the end of the season. No compensation to pay and he knows the players we have.CrazyHorse wrote:Jimmy Phillips isn't the answer.

The other option is limp on to the end of the season and then get rid, but that's a horrible prospect.
To think Gartside doubled the salary of an unproven manager on a 3 year contract beggars belief. His own chairman knew the score and did feck all to keep him. Can't blame Dougie for taking it, i do blame him for being a bullshitting chancer however.

Re: Freedman out!
It does, but we're £40m+ away from complying with FFP as it is. In that respect, it would affect us in the same way that turning on all the taps in the bogs would've affected the Titanic.ChrisC wrote:Abdoulaye's Twin wrote:It's everything from the tea lady to the performance (smirk) bonuses.ChrisC wrote:If we sacked DF, does that cost affect the financial fair play thing? The above post is complete bollox/garbage/nonsense, please point this out to me at any and every occasion possible.

I fancy he'd go for Steven Pressley actually. Inexperienced, flavour of the month, jock. Fits the bill.

Re: Freedman out!
I don't think we can blame anyone for being a chancer when they didn't exactly march down from Scotland and take over the club by force. The 3 year contract on double money is what DF means by security for his family. If DF is a mistake the only person to blame is Gartside!LeverEnd wrote:To think Gartside doubled the salary of an unproven manager on a 3 year contract beggars belief. The starting XI of the next game will be interesting. If he actually drops players who aren't performing and plays the likes of Bolger then that would be a start for me. If he really hasn't got a clue at least he makes changes quicker than the last manager, it doesn't look like he's surrounded by yes men and I'm not sick of the DF soundbites yet. But, if what's happening on the pitch isn't working then it isn't working.
The way some of you have been anti-DF from the beginning it seems like the next manager will have to be an ex-Wanderer.
The players you fail to sign never lose you any money.

Re: Freedman out!
To drop 'underperforming players' I assume means ones playing poorly. So apart from Lonergan we need ten new names on the team sheet?Armchair Wanderer wrote:I don't think we can blame anyone for being a chancer when they didn't exactly march down from Scotland and take over the club by force. Re: Freedman out!
It isn't working at least some of the time because he keeps chopping and changing. The back four was relatively solid when Mills/Ream played at the back. I would rather we tried to play our untested reserve LB in there than have Zat Knight in there. But then it's not just his fault at the moment it seems to be a lack of direction/players who really don't care as you look at that team and know they should not be in this situation.Armchair Wanderer wrote:I don't think we can blame anyone for being a chancer when they didn't exactly march down from Scotland and take over the club by force. Re: Freedman out!
I think you've misunderstood my point. I quite clearly AM blaming Gartside. I'm also saying that DF has oversold his abilities and appears to be blaming everyone else but himself whilst arrogantly patronising the fans, hence the chancer accusation.Armchair Wanderer wrote:I don't think we can blame anyone for being a chancer when they didn't exactly march down from Scotland and take over the club by force. I don't know if the 2nd bit refers to me, but I was fully behind him until 10 games into this season as every new manager deserves a chance and some support. Then I realised he was clueless. I also think the vast majority of fans have been supportive of him, especially given the dross he's served up.
