Re: The Politics Thread
I was joking with my remark above (I think you know that). Sadly, yes it will, Worthy. Though not purely driven by a rise in the NMW itself, it'll be one more straw than we can't realistically bear. With our recent capex we currently have over-capacity and are struggling to keep six shifts on five day working as it is.Worthy4England wrote: Does it have a major impact to your line of work Brucie or is it just the principle of it?

We've just cut 15%, after cuts last year and the year before. Tough and no mistake...Bruce Rioja wrote:I was joking with my remark above (I think you know that). Sadly, yes it will, Worthy. I heard that Worthy and forgot to ask about it. Haven't the company just signed a new 5 year agreement with BAE across the board? That must be worth millions

Not us sir, although it depends on the number of millions you're referring to.boltonboris wrote:I heard that Worthy and forgot to ask about it. Haven't the company just signed a new 5 year agreement with BAE across the board? That must be worth millions

Nice to know what our contributions to the Soviet state of Europe is spent on

One arm, one leg, no chance of work? Sorry but to fund the EU and overseas aid we need to cut your benefits or if you are lucky and working we need to keep taxing everything to the hilt!
Give us a referendum, now.

Out of interest, Hoboh, what do you think the result would be (ish) if we did have a vote?Hoboh wrote: Give us a referendum, now.

I think about 60-40% for the out or about that ratio.Bruce Rioja wrote:Out of interest, Hoboh, what do you think the result would be (ish) if we did have a vote?Hoboh wrote: Give us a referendum, now.
What worries me is IF they ever get around to a referendum they will not make it a simple majority vote i.e. it must be 75% or more in favour of an exit, that would not surprise me in the slightest, too many of the 'boys' have a vested interest in the Europe project.
I am firmly in the belief we elect people to look after us primarily, not themselves or others, if we are doing well then we can indulge in others as a collective, individually we are free to donate to whatever troubles our conscience.

I was reading earlier that they plan to sell our medical data next. Anonomised (of sorts) of course, though not guaranteed that an insurance company couldn't work out who it is and hike your insurance premiums and 'tailor' their products to you. They'd sell their Grannies next if they hadn't already done so

The majority of the information that the NHS own is actually now in private hands.
So, when the Health Minister wishes to answer a question in the House of Commons with regard our health service, he has to pay (I'll repeat that) he has to pay for the information to be able to answer the question. So thats our money paying for our data that was compiled with our money. Brilliant.
Indeed, some of these companies now hide behind data protection when they wish not to answer the minister's question.
What a sorry state our country is now in.

You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.

I'm not so sure about that. DP is a very clearly laid out and only covers individual or identifiable data.Lord Kangana wrote:The majority of the information that the NHS own is actually now in private hands.

If I come back, I think I'm heading to Scotlandshire. If they've any sense they'll scarper and ban the Whitehall wankers from setting foot over the border!

They would win 1 term maximum. Anyway, they can hardly do worse than the current parliament in London.Hoboh wrote:I wouldn't, Mr and Mrs fish will destroy the place if the Scottish vote in stupidity.Abdoulaye's Twin wrote:If I come back, I think I'm heading to Scotlandshire. Clegg has to be a bampot if he really thinks Rennard is going to apologise... I mean he (Lord Foxy) claims he did nothing wrong, and an inquiry couldn't pin anything on him, so why the feck would he even think of apologising? If I was Rennard, which for all sorts of reasons well outside of the parameters covered under this particular argument I thank the fickety fock I'm not, I'd probably be demanding that whoever slagged me off should be apologising.
Anyway, greasebags to the lot of 'em.

Re: The Politics Thread
I watched episode 2 of Benefits Street.
Ignore the stupid name - again I thought the subjects were portrayed pretty sympathetically - this time Romanian immigrants. You'd have to have a heart of stone not to be moved by these men's explanantions of how they are driven on by a love for their kids.

I toyed with watching it yesterday, but couldn't get past the stupid name. Will watch.
