Who are these young players? I thought that they were either in the reserves, released or on loan.BWFC_Insane wrote:But what if the key to success turns out to be building a stable solid foundation of younger players and being patient whilst that comes to fruition, rather than changing a manager every year if they cannot achieve promotion with a dwindling set of talent?
Lets be clear, I'm asking a question. I'm not saying stick with anybody. But I'm very much struggling to see a short term way out of our problems. So a longer term view is required. I don't know if Freedman is the right person to implement that, and I'm certainly not suggesting he is. I'm merely stating that I don't believe changing manager would lead to the promotion people seem to think it would. Especially as undoubtedly we are going to be working with an even smaller budget next year.
Different opinion.
This year, promotion clearly isn't an option, that because our record breaking season so far has seen to that. Relegation is though and that's what worries me.
Third time now, try and answer it or I will assume an answer. Do you think Duggie is getting the best out of these players?

Anyhow, I think he is getting the best out of some of them and not others. I think there are various factors involved, such as some players knowing the club won't be offering them a new deal. I think the squad as it stands are a mid-table championship side, but as Pru says too many players who are mentally weak. I certainly think we should be doing somewhat better than we are but I don't think any manager will get this squad into the top 6 of this division as it stands.
Re: Name some names then.
There you go then, even you don't think he is doing good enough. I haven't seen anything to make me think he can or will do anything better.BWFC_Insane wrote:If you asked nicely.....jaffka wrote:Who are these young players? Re: Name some names then.
Its a huge slice of irony that we're deriding the man who saved Douglas Freedman from having overseen the unwanted record of worst result in BWFC's history. He might be a waster, but that tells its own tale to me.

Re: Name some names then.
No it's not.
It's not ironic, and it's not true. Getting hit by somebody else's shot is the only useful thing that f*cker did all game.
This is in no way ironic. Competing with Dan there.

Yes it is.
You're saying N'Gog is shit.
He saved Dougie from having yet another unwanted record.
He's like Baldrick coming second in the village idiot contest. He's that shit.

Re: Name some names then.
Also no manager ever gets 'the best' out of a group of players. It's about getting of enough of them to play near enough to the best of their abilities enough of the time. And Dougie isn't doing enough. That doesn't mean this squad is good enough to get promoted though.

Re: Name some names then.
N'Gog is shit. I'd argue that someone who contributed so brilliantly to us being 7-0 down in the first place can hardly be said to have 'saved' anything by being hit with the ball, but even if he had, it still isn't ironic. Its barely even incidental.Lord Kangana wrote:Yes it is.

If Douglas had said 'You can't call me the joint worst manager in our history; I have to work with the likes of N'Gog, who couldn't score if a team mate blasted at his leg when he was stood two yards out with his back to it', then it might have been ironic.

Re: Name some names then.
He missed an excellent chance early on I believe, and fell over the ball when he could have cleared it for one fo theirs. The only player who desrves credit for our goal is Odelusi. I'm embarrassed for Ngog that he's even on the scoresheet.
And I agree that it's not ironic, OK Alanis?

I don't know. My point is that N'Gog is a waste of space shithouse. Freedman's ability is neither here not there. If your point is that Freedman is a waste of space shithouse too, I'm not rushing to argue with you.Lord Kangana wrote:Prufrock wrote:N'Gog is shit. Freedman is also looking like a big pile of steaming crap.

Exactamundo.
Still keeps picking them. Despite several very public slatings he's given them.
Make your bloody mind up Dougie.

other managers have done that. seen it before.

it could be worse. he could be not picking them, then they get involved in some kinda of accident, and have to eulogize them on TV like he's their bestest pal. i hated that, when i think back, it could look like cynical ploy to get in folks good books for monetary or job security reasons. he shouldve just been super factual about it.
but i digress..
whatever it is, He's got to sort it soon as poss.
