As I get slated for banging the Gary Neville drum, I'll put me sticks down. But would suggest now OGS has gone to Cardiff, a couple of different names than those suggested by my wife, who considers that Syd Little, H from Steps or Cheryl Baker could all do a better job than our current incumbent. How about Mike Phelan ? (I know, I know, another DMB). Keith Hill from Rochdale, (although he made a mess at Barnsley). Or thinking out loud..........What about an audacious and ludicrous aproach and gamble on Alan Hansen now he's leaving MOTD? He'd certainly sort our defence out, and may just fancy the smell of the boot room again. What's the worst that could happen? We could end up getting relegated and having a sheeite manager. Oh, yes we've done / got that already.

Don't! I've been onboard with that one for a while, well pre Freedman any way.
Make no bones about it we would be a starter club for Neville but he does strike me as a bloke who finds leaving jobs half done distastefull, he lives round here, shows no intention of fecking off for the 'glamour lifestyle' and TBH ex manc or whatever it makes no difference if he turned our club round. It wouldn't be long before his name was chanted from the terrace.

Yeah lets get someone who has never managed, has never shown an inclination to manage and I suspect would be a hundred times worse than what we've got at the minute.

IF we are going to change IT HAS to be a manager who has a proper proven track-record at this level of football, or what is the point? We might as well gamble that Freedman who has at least shown the ability to build a team from scraps elsewhere can repeat that here. Certainly that would be more likely to be successful than plucking a pundit out and making them manager.

As I said re AH, I was thinking (not very intelligently), out loud. The Gary Neville shout is a serious one and I feel (hey, it's only my opinion on a football forum ffs!) one worth considering when we look at our current plight. He could only say 'no thanks'. But he could think, 'that's a bloody good club to start my managerial career, I'll say yes'.
Just look at the facts. We have made our worst start since 1903 I think it was ? We have just suffered our biggest defeat in 32 years, to a club who we should at least have parity with. As a club, since DF has been here, we have gone backwards. WE HAVE NOT PROGRESSED. We play dour unatractive football. We are in our lowest league position since the early eighties. It could easily get a lot worse before it gets better. We need a change. Be it manager, chairman, direction, or preferably all three. We need a change quickly. I think my wife maybe right, H from Steps would be a refreshing change from what we've got. Probably play with a lot more panache.
