Re: Tennis, anyone.....?
You do sort of get the feeling that barring injuries or massive loss of form, that forthcoming Aus and US opens for the next year or two could be shoot outs between Andy and Novak.
Federer will still have a say of course, but on hard courts, these two can wear him down.
Wimbledon could well be different as it suits Federer so much.
Must be nice for Murray to know he has one in the bag at least.

That'd be tautologyitis wouldn't it ?mrkint wrote:Nadal won't come back.
Tendonitis I think isn't it? He's ground himself into the ground
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Good situation that at last a Brit can play, and beat, the best in the world. Well done the lad.

Nadal is indeed not the force he was either. His style of play has battered his poor knees to breaking point.
I always knew if Murray could outlast him and Fed physically, it would be a shootout for slams between him and the Djoker. Definite gap now between 3rd and the rest. (nadal recovery pending)

Sore feet, I gather. Murray said it didn't affect the result but....Bruce Rioja wrote:Started so well, finished quite disappointingly really.

The fact he had a five setter with a days less rest was always going to make a very hard task to start with, near impossible.
It was clear that he needed to be 2 sets to the good to win it. He could have been he had three break points second game of the second set and one real chance on them, that he dragged wide.
No question that Djokovic is the better player. But Murray is definitely his biggest challenger now.
And that's a huge credit to Murray.
Keep going Andy there is plenty more history you can make.

Mixed blessing. When Wawrinka was on fire last year he blew Murray away like a fly.
Thankfully Murray plays Olderer next instead.

Back surgery from a couple of months previous complicated matters, but the same could be said of injuries and form for Federer last year. Once they get on form again it'll be interesting to see how those two and Djoko match up.
No-one expected Nadal to come back the way he has and is the guy to beat at the minute. I think he'll beat Wawrinka fairly easily.

Struggling even more now. May be about to retire.
Re: Tennis, anyone.....?
Well clearly he was injured!
(Hmm, my tennis predictions have taken a nose-dive.

For the first time in history a Canadian has reached the quarter finals in Men's singles in the French Open. Milos Raonic came here from Montenegro when he was three. Montreal's own Eugenie Bouchard has joined him on the women's side. Over here we are all a bit in love with her.

Our Canadian male bowed out to Djokovic but our young Miss, who just turned 20, has reached the semis.

CAPS may be ahead of her in reaching a semi.
