Re: Ipswich Match Thread
A bit of information from the football ground guide for those who do want to see us lose again:
The ground is only a quarter of a mile away from Ipswich train station and is only a five minute walk away. You will see the Portman Road floodlights in the distance as your train comes into the station. Ipswich is served by trains from London Liverpool Street and Peterborough.
The main away supporters pub is the Riverside (Station) Hotel, which as the name suggests, backs onto a river and is located close to the railway station which is only a five minute walk away from Portman Road.

Oh, and I think we'll probably win. Just. Naturally this will be interpreted as the second coming, but you can't have everything and at least it'll keep us away from the drop zone.
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

You have to have webbed feet to get in one of them. Is there something you need to tell us Boris?boltonboris wrote:I'm watching this in a box at Portman Road. You Peasants

And how much will you see, Dan? The quarter mile between the station and Portman Road? Or will we be taking a wee float down The Orwell?bwfcdan94 wrote:Thought as much - will judge it as I see it.

If I get there reasonably early I will take a look around as I always do although your right it takes time to create a judgement of a place.Bruce Rioja wrote:And how much will you see, Dan? Saw us win 1-0 there in the 100 goals season. The vast majority of the home crowd appeared to be gap toothed simpletons or grossly overweight. So much so, we felt the ground should be renamed Portly Road. Looked like a nice place mind.
0-2 defeat. Dougie & BWFC I see the positives and declare us 'almost there'

Still not been to Ipswich. Went to Norwich in that season. Was one I was thinking about earlier in the season but I'm on a 30th birthday all-dayer and glad of it!Harry Genshaw wrote:Saw us win 1-0 there in the 100 goals season. No idea mate, was in some pub pre match but can't remember the name. Been on a night out there since but for some reason my memory of it is a little hazy.jaffka wrote:Had a lot of fun many a year a go in Norwich, its a great place.

Re: Ipswich Match Thread
Fromt' th'offish
Charles Breakspear will take charge of Wanderers’ clash with Ipswich Town this weekend.
A relatively fresh face in the professional game having been first installed as an official in August 2012, the Surrey based referee has officiated 16 games so far this term across League One, League Two and various cup competitions.
Having brandished 66 yellows and six red cards in the process, Breakspear oversaw Portsmouth’s 1-0 win at Wycombe last time out.
So that's 4.125 yellows a game and a red in every 2.67 games. Has he reffed Blackpool or summat?
