Better. Considerably better. Salmon cooked perfectly, spotted dick and custard for pud I doubt that it's where Heathcote would like it to be just yet but yeah, absolutely no complaints. Choice of starters was veg broth or salmon. Choices for mains were slamon, turkey breast or pork and leek bangers. Choice of spuds a carrots with rosemary. There was also a (seemingly untroubled) cold selection as well. A reasonable cheese selection also.

Umm Salmon. I used to hate fish as a kid but I have really got into it the least 3 or 4 years or so of course I have always liked Cod and chips from the chippy but have found I now also like Salmon and Haddock through cooking myself.

Went to Ask Italia on the Middlebrook. The Mrs had swapped her Tesco vouchers for vouchers there. Pretty good -Caprese Salad starter was as good as I've had, but overall not so good I'd necessarily make the effort to go back. Very odd furniture and lighting in there. It's like dining in Ikea

Ask is good as long as your paying a lot less than full price. If you cab voucher it to sort of F&Bs chain price it's far superior IMO.

Both distinctly average, but I'd rather eat in F&Bs than Ask just because the ambience is dreadful. ikea is a good comparison.

Had my first nandos experience tonight after avoiding and assuming it would be shite, was pleasantly surprised.

...anyway, last night I was fed by an Italian. She cooked pesto and pasta, supremely simple dish but absolutely divine - Her spag was home made and al dente and her pesto was also homemade. The only bit that wasn't was an extra virgin olive oil from Liguria that was drizzled over the spag before the pesto was mixed in. The best meal I've had in the 2010s so far.

He was doing alright to cover the air of snobbishness, facing it head-on, right up-front, until he drew the comparison between the fact that it's unfair to treat foodies this way, as opposed to "someone who spends £150 on a pair of shoes" - which is common sense. Any credibility in relation to not being a snob, sorta disappeared.

Oh and I like F&B's Hot Wings. They're great.

Edit: Actually take that back - I was confussled with TGI's Hot Wings...
