guessing you went GD ? The radio commentary and stats on the BBC make it sound/look like we should be grateful for the point. Any thoughtsGravedigger wrote:Don't forget DF organised this team 3 weeks ago and it didn't go as he thought it would so he did the mystic Meg subs and then went with Chungy to win it. Well, it worked in the hallucinatory dreams he had. Course every cloud has a silver lining, the pies were hot.

Re: Den bones, Den bones, Den dry bones...
Sounds like we were largely crap and the substitutions once again, baffling.
Three points are obviously always better but this point is valuable, especially in a relegation battle.
Not overly happy with a point a Millwall but relieved we got something. Shows how far we have fallen.

That is such a ridiculously defensive team. You're begging to be overrun with a team like that. Awful decision.Tombwfc wrote:So the team when we conceded was...

I'm tired of even being angry, or exceptionally disappointed any more. He's managed to make me lethargic about it all.
That performance was on the cards from the moment he announced that team. That we came close to a win is not "Ooooh, what a shame" but "how did we manage that then ?"
I honestly think he's doing what Megson did any selecting squads, teams, players ... and tactics ... gauged to piss us off now. To show us that he's right.
Still, 2 home games coming up.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

So the 2 defensive midfielders to protect the back 4 are no longer enough, we need to make it a back 5 for the 2 defensive midfielders to protect.

Todays game seemed to sum up what Freedman is about. Play defensive & deep. Invite loads of pressure and see if we can nick something on the break or score from a dead ball. Today is a good day - Bogdan plays a blinder, they're wasteful and we take one of our few chances. Reading was no different, just the opposition weren't wasteful.
When it works we're set up to win 1-0 or draw 0-0/1-1. Just nobody has told him that our defence is 5hite and we could be far better if we actually had a proper go at the opposition.

Hollway says: 'I'm deadly serious when I say you would be bored senseless watching that kind of performance from them [Bolton]. If that's how you set out to play when people pay a lot of money to watch I'd be bored senseless.'
Whilst Freedman says we controlled the game in the first half.
I don't think we did, it sounded to me like we were fortunate to be ahead.

Re: Den bones, Den bones, Den dry bones...
Want to see what the match-goers have to say, but...It wouldn't be so bad if he hadn't seen them bring three front men on and didn't try to exploit that. If he'd put Chungy on to take advantage of gaps in the midfield and not replaced our most creative player with Zat Knight....If that wasn't a statement of no intention of going for the win, what was?
Si Deus pro nobis, quis contra nos?
Re: Den bones, Den bones, Den dry bones...
Aye, I was annoyed when he brought Knight on because there really was no need. Did he not learn his mistakes from the Bournemouth game when he took Mark Davies off? But the more he makes these kind of decisions, the more I seem to just take them by-the-par, and it's getting to the point where I almost don't feel it anymore. He's going to annoy me to the point of apathy.TANGODANCER wrote:Want to see what the match-goers have to say, but...It wouldn't be so bad if he hadn't seen them bring three front men on and didn't try to exploit that. Re: Den bones, Den bones, Den dry bones...
I only listened to the radio stream from the start second half. It sounded like we were pegged back for almost the entire 45 minutes, with the exception of a few breaks forward.
Whilst we were under the pump, the defence was (just) handling it. Playing against 4 strikers would have been tough I'm sure, but surely that would have left some space to run around in the midfield. Surely Spearing/Medo/Mavies are capable of getting a grip of that?
Tired of 451 (and 541). Can't wait for Becks to come back so there's an excuse to play a 442.

Re: Den bones, Den bones, Den dry bones...
We must like films. We've had Laurel and Hardy ( Brown and Allardyce) who were pretty good, replaced by the three stooges, Lee, Megson and Coyle, who were pretty bad, and now Groucho Marx. The cast of Dad's Army could hardly shape worse than this lot right now. It all looks grim mainly due to our overall season. A draw away isn't the worst result on the planet, but added to the rest of the less than admirable results it feels like a loss.bobo the clown wrote:I've described him for a long while as a Wannabe George Graham but with the Keystone Cops to select from.Harry Genshaw wrote:Todays game seemed to sum up what Freedman is about. ................
