Just to note, CAMRA Pub of the Year lies in Lancashire, at Pendleton.

Wtf. Ale (and wine) disappeared...the only way I could find them was through a search... It this the result of legends reappearing? If I could find my prediction thread I'd predict the new Sticky will get about a hit a year, if that, but I can't find. So I won't.
Anyway I'm drinking some ale - right now Dr Morton's "Hedgehog Sharpener" 4.1%abv
Nice
'twas I doing a bit of housekeeping ages ago, nothing to do with SOTWA. I don't think they're popular enough to warrant a sticky; though if enough people shout I'll happily stick them back sticky again.

Odd - I could have sworn I saw wine this week but perhaps WtW or Bruce had dug it up. Spotty, what can you expect from a cider drinker?CrazyHorse wrote:Well spotted spotty.Lost Leopard Spot wrote:*splutter*

Re: Ale
Boozy afternoon yesterday. Started at Dimtris on Deansgate (Manc) where I had Erdinga and a couple of glasses of house red with a really nice meze. Moved on to Britons Protection for a couple of pints of Cumberland Ale. Over to The Bridge for a couple Hobgoblins. We were then going for the tram when inexplicably Wetherspoons gravity pulled us across the road for another couple. Arrived home with a huge smile on my face. Not often I have an afternoon like that, and thank goodness I have no appointments before noon today.

Last night was Four Old Gits at the Sweet Green.
The most common beer was Sorry this beer is not currently available (three versions of this). But I had a night of drinking halves of Golden Pippin and a lot of laughter.
Nice.

Fascinating Bruce. That's a hell of a lot of closed pubs, though it does go back to before my Grandad's boozing days.Bruce Rioja wrote:I shall put this in here. The lost pubs of Bolton. https://maps.google.com/maps/ms?hl=en&i ... dg=feature" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Looking at the closed dates there must have been something going on around 1904-07 as there's a lot closed around then.
Tango, do you remember ?

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

A lot were pulled down due to slum clearances when the big sewers were put in just around then.bobo the clown wrote:Fascinating Bruce.
