No, that's who he'll end up signing for...

Mason loan all agreed but has to be a maximum of 50 days so will be signed at the last minute. As this is an emergency loan, we can only sign him for a maximum of 93 days but we have already had him for 43 days earlier in the season. Strange but true according to Nixon.

And according to our chairman too. I haven't checked the dates, but signing late means he's eligible for two more games than if we'd signed him on Friday, when the loan was agreed (but agreed too late for Millwall although the days would have still counted towards the 50).

Simply fckg amazing !!

... & how's it an emergency loan ? I get that with goalkeepers, but the only reason we have an emergency with our strikers is because we've loaned 3 out, sold one, have one injured short-term and won't play any of our youngsters ?
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

So, Mason has to sign after five-0'clock on a Saturday so he can get a last game in before going home when his time's up?

Don't get me wrong, there are a lot of jocks who are alright, some are even my friends. Sometimes though you have just got to make these sacrifices.

There's somebody seriously deluded at the club if they're thinking those 2 extra games are going to be in the play offs!

Danns will be eligible for selection for Bolton in all competitions, including the weekend’s FA Cup tie against Blackpool and any potential play-off games
This is what the Club posted when Danns re-signed on the 3rd Jan...I think you're right, someone's seriously deluded.

If Mason is going to class as an emergency signing then why on earth are we signing him. Surely another player who hasn't played poorly for us would be a better shout.

Remember when we signed David N'Gog and we were all doubting his goal scoring abilities in a good team? Well this is exactly the same thing, yet a tier lower. N'Gog signed with a 19 goal in 94 games record (src: liverpoolfc.com) so thats roughly a 1 in 5. Well Joe Mason is 15 in 67 (soccerbase.com), roughly 1 in 4.5. He scored 6 goals for Cardiff last season in 27 appearances and thats in a successful championship winning side.

He is not the solution to the goalscoring problem. Why are we looking for a replacement for N'Gog's ineptitude?

It would seem that Freedman finds something that clearly doesn't work then persists with it.

If we sign him I hope he comes good. Same goes for Freedman. From the looks of it, it seems we're putting our eggs in the wrong basket.

No one said anything about the play offs!

As malcd1 said, the loan is for 50 days. If Mason signs today, he can stay until 9 April, which means he's eligible for the games at Huddersfield on 5 April and Donny on 8 April. If he'd signed on Friday, when the loan was agreed, then he would have had to leave before the Huddersfield game.

This apparently demonstrates amateurism. Signing him on a date that means he gets to play more games.

Tbf he didn't look very good. So there might be a point there .

If we sign a striker that we haven't already had, would he be available for longer?
