Re: Abdoulaye's going t'Souk transfer thread
On a point of order: he's eligible to play more games; there's no guarantee he will. He might, for example, score a few, thus making himself a prime candidate for the bench.Prufrock wrote:This apparently demonstrates amateurism. Signing him on a date that means he gets to play more games.
Tbf he didn't look very good. So there might be a point there .

Pru is quite right, if we are going to sign someone who as been shit for us already, we might as well maximise that deal. Personally I've seen enough but will we get better? If that's the best we can do, make the best of it. Let's stop making up stuff to slag the club off for. Wait til mason's scored 0 goals in 10 games!
I hope he'll be a success, but expect nothing.

Re: Abdoulaye's going t'Souk transfer thread
Probably right L.E, but I'm not holding out hopes of any real difference unless we get him some support up front during games. Moritz in the hole or at least playing within shouting distance of our striker would at least show some intent. One goal and shut the toffee shop (always providing we get the one goal of course) will always be living the vida loca with our lot. Doesn't matter how well we nearly score or hit woodwork and near miss, as well proven recently, ball in net and more than once is the only safe option. I'd have every one of them on shooting practise from outside the box till they burst all the balls.LeverEnd wrote:Pru is quite right, if we are going to sign someone who as been shit for us already, we might as well maximise that deal. There is a difference between loaning players in the January transfer window and the loan window. Why they include the 43 days we had him earlier in the season I have no idea. Strange system.bobo the clown wrote:Simply fckg amazing !!jaffka wrote:Everything about the management team suggests amateur.Worthy4England wrote:...It just gets better and better...malcd1 wrote:Mason loan all agreed but has to be a maximum of 50 days so will be signed at the last minute. As this is an emergency loan, we can only sign him for a maximum of 93 days but we have already had him for 43 days earlier in the season. Strange but true according to Nixon.
... & how's it an emergency loan ? I get that with goalkeepers, but the only reason we have an emergency with our strikers is because we've loaned 3 out, sold one, have one injured short-term and won't play any of our youngsters ?
Do not trust atoms. They make up everything.

I believe so. I'm happy to take him though. Thought he looked a good player before Ream Knight and Mills started twatting 60 yard balls over his head.jaffka wrote:If we sign a striker that we haven't already had, would he be available for longer?Prufrock wrote:This apparently demonstrates amateurism. Amazing how vendettas against the management can cloud a players ability

I'm not convinced by Mason.
But I hardly think the bizarre rules surrounding this loan window are a good reason to berate the management of the club. There are enough reasons without having to invent more.
It is more than plausible that there simply aren't other options to sign at this point so we have to make the best of it with Mason.

Indeed. Vagaries of the transfer window aside, the main question remains - will, or even can DF make the best of having Mason here? Because the Charlton game will live long in my mind.BWFC_Insane wrote:I'm not convinced by Mason.

Maybe if the prick hadn't got rid of all our other striker options we wouldn't need to make the best of Mason. Y'know, stick with the guy he himself signed as the answer to our problems only one year ago.BWFC_Insane wrote:I'm not convinced by Mason.

And that's before he lets Mason walk straight into the starting 11 and pushes Beckford onto the bench again. Y'know the guy he himself signed as the answer to our problems only six months ago.

With Beckford being injured, he could push Juk onto the bench, Y'know the guy he signed a month ago.CrazyHorse wrote:Maybe if the prick hadn't got rid of all our other striker options we wouldn't need to make the best of Mason. To be fair Juk has scored a goal, so is due a bit of bench time so he can learn to run again...Worthy4England wrote:With Beckford being injured, he could push Juk onto the bench, Y'know the guy he signed a month ago.CrazyHorse wrote:Maybe if the prick hadn't got rid of all our other striker options we wouldn't need to make the best of Mason. I would suggest that before diving in head first, familiarisation with the rules is important. Prevents looking like an arse on a repeated basis.BWFC_Insane wrote:I'm not convinced by Mason.

Me, personally, I'm going to celebrate in the manner of that Mexican shark fisherman adrift in the Pacific, and drink my own piss. Yahoo.jaffka wrote:I'm just dashing off to the offie, to get some ale in to celebrate this fantastic news.
