Re: Freedman out!
Still of the view that he's busy repairing his own damage from earlier this season. However, it's about results and performances ... which he's managed to turn around these past 3 games.
I remain confused why it's taken him this long but if he has, and he's learnt a few things then it's pointing in the right direction at last. Let's see.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

He didn't have these players to select earlier in the season. It really isn't rocket science to see that getting some good characters into the side with some better attitudes has helped us hugely of late. Of course Mason and Jutke have plenty ability as well.bobo the clown wrote:Still of the view that he's busy repairing his own damage from earlier this season. But he has had Eagles, regarded as one of the best players in the division. He has Beckford, who he chased and signed, he has CYL, whom he hasn't gotten anywhere near his best out of. He has Moritz and the list goes on...BWFC_Insane wrote:He didn't have these players to select earlier in the season. Re: Freedman out!
He was the manager as we went into the last close-season. He was free to ship in & out any number of players. He flipped and flopped about contradicting himself left, right and centre. He played any number of formations and any number of players came in, or went out. He managed to sign players who he then dropped.BWFC_Insane wrote:He didn't have these players to select earlier in the season. Eventually he got two players up front and has chosen a formation which has clicked. A formation he derided earlier in the season. This was in his scope since last May. He's managed in this February/March. Forgive me if I am yet to fall at his feet.
But .... if he consolidates this then I will be happy. There's a way to go before I'm convinced. For now, however, it's a good turn-around.

Pretty much with you on that Bobo.....
Re: Freedman out!
It is right but it won't be to the one where everything is either shit or ace. No inbetween.
Re: Freedman out!
Exactly. Juke came in and did well but we still were struggling for results until he got Mason next to him. It's about being positive and having 2 up front, if he'd done that earlier with his own lesser players who he signed, maybe we could be looking at a playoff push with these 2 better ones who he's borrowed temporarily. Loving this great form but does it let DF off the hook? Does it fook.Abdoulaye's Twin wrote:But he has had Eagles, regarded as one of the best players in the division. We have the same manager, the only thing that has changed is some key players in and out of the side.Abdoulaye's Twin wrote:But he has had Eagles, regarded as one of the best players in the division. That has led to improved results. Which sort of clearly points to the original players being the issue not the manager, does it not?
If Eagles, CYL showed the same attitude that Danns has since coming in we'd not be where we are. That is only and can only be their fault entirely.
Mind that has been the same under different mangers too.
Adding Beckford into the mix was a mistake I think. But these results are showing, have the right attitude amongst your players and things can certainly improve and it isn't about sacking a manager necessarily.

We played two up earlier in the season. Home to QPR and away at Blackburn. The myth that it was simply about putting two up front has well and truly been exposed as the over simplistic nonsense it is.LeverEnd wrote:Exactly. Re: Freedman out!
I posted this in the match thread but rather than bring the mood down, I'll repost it here instead:
The players are doing their job but it's the system which works. Play four different midfielders, two different strikers and this system would still be successful. Play a lone striker, boot up the ball 300 times per match, sit back meekly like we're playing Bayern and, yeah, we'll look garbage again. Show a bit of arrogance, go at teams and try to win, and it'll work. It's almost like Freedman was on the verge of the sack, thought "f*ck it, I may as well go down swinging" and he's stumbled upon the realisation that going at teams works.
To put it down to Mason and Jutkiewicz is laughable. I like them and their partnership but come on...
Which is why everyone was waxing lyrical about Mason's performances in his first period with us...right? Or why Juke was so effective in his first few games for us?BWFC_Insane wrote:Ermm yeah nobody is saying that. Clearly several of the players we started the season with weren't and aren't good enough. Were you praising this system when we played it at home and lost to QPR?SmokinFrazier wrote:I posted this in the match thread but rather than bring the mood down, I'll repost it here instead:

If Eagles and CYL have the wrong attitude why does the prick keep picking them? He isn't picking them is he? And funnily enough we are winning. Re: Freedman out!
Always felt DF was a good manager. The players felt so, his managerial peers also felt so. I also thought we had a number of "weak-hearted" players in our squad who had to be relplaced. Now we are seeing that having players with "heart" makes some difference.
Eagles, CYL may be good players, and even technically better than Danns, Mason or Juke, but when the tackles come flying in, and we go one down, seek to find somewhere to hide. Not sure what a manager is expected to do to make the team win games when that happens.
DF's true mantle is now coming through with some better material at his disposal and some players back fit (Wheats and Mavies). It should be an interesting summer when we clear the deck.

Which is it; we've won a few games because The Greatest Football Manager Ever has signed Duke & Mason or because he's dropped Eagles & Chungy?
Or is it cos Danns is the saviour? Or cos Craig Davies is the saviour? Or Beckford? Or Trotter? Or Dawson?
Make your mind up.

And winning three games doesn't even cancel out our shite performances since Christmas never mind the last 18 months worth of tripe.
Did I mention Freedman has served up our worst start in 100 years?
