I love my village, not sure I'd ever want to live anywhere else. Though a bigger, prettier house with a few acres of land and a smallholding would be nice. Some feckin cheeky barstewards about, we already pay for this serviceBOLTON’S Labour-run council has moved quickly to insist it has no plans to charge people for bin collections.
The move comes after reports in the national newspapers indicated that Liberal Democrat education minister David Laws believes local councils could respond to a cut or freeze in the central government grant by charging for services such as bin collections.
A number of authorities have already started charging for the collection and disposal or recycled items and garden waste.

As for Bolton council these are the same set of rogues who in order to regain control of the council fought tooth and nail against fortnightly bin collections the Lib Dems introduced and promised 'never to introduce them', what do we have, fortnightly collections!

The liars in charge will charge, unless the many public funded jobs, fat red 'socialist' pig, Morris and his Haliwell mafia get the boot, mark my words.

Hang on, a Lib Dem politician has suggested that councils should charge. Our Labour council has said they won't. And you extrapolate from this that getting rid of the party who are saying they won't charge will precipitate the election of a party that won't charge. Have I got that right? And am I missing something?
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.

Maybe you should call him Hoboh(from the Bolton news website) 01204 331098, is Morris head of the local council then basically. The bloke we have here is called John Redwood(Deadwood) and he has apparently been in for donkeys and is dangerously close to being a UKIP. You might li9ke him as he is really outspoken on immigration and Europe. He is conservative thoughHoboh wrote:Some feckin cheeky barstewards about, we already pay for this serviceBOLTON’S Labour-run council has moved quickly to insist it has no plans to charge people for bin collections.

Aye but some of the things that have gone on in Tottenham over the years would look out of place in some of Liverpool and Manc's worse estates, don't see us having riots in Horwich either (thankfully), nor police officers being murdered in a manor that still makes those who are from that part of the world shiver.Did I mention the drugs problem Tottenham has, little quote from a telegraph article following the recent riots:Gary the Enfield wrote:danhorwich wrote:Tottenham's a sh**hole im pleased I ignored my Spuds supporting dad and listened to my mother instead when deciding what team to support, it saves having to go through one of the few places in London which is getting worse over time every other weekend.

"While all illegal substances are readily available on Tottenham’s streets, it is the heroin trade which has put the area on Britain’s crime map with the so-called Turkish Mafia said to control around 90 per cent of the country’s heroin market."
Here's the article http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/ ... crime.html
Its comfortably the worst area in London and as I say has actually got worse in the last 20 years or so while most other deprived parts of London have got better (e.g. Stratford).
As has been stated most places have a few lunatics, its the frequency of such actions that give places their reputation. Burnley didn't get a reputation for being a violent deprived town with troubling racial tensions for nothing - they had race riots, the BNP had their best results ever there. Liverpool didn't have a bad reputation throughout the 70s and 80s without cause - Toxteth riots(2 in fact). Millwall fans did not have the reputation they had (and to some extent still have) without reason - many instances, Kenilworth Road being the most known.Stereotypes are never wholly correct but they are by no means created by mere myth either. The media may big up some areas over others - Middlesbrough is one place that has taken a beating from the media over the years as has Liverpool but there is no smoke without fire and you would be daft not to see that.

And thereby I rest my case.
I'm not going to comment on this again Dan. Despite assertions that others have made about your depictions of almost everywhere you've been (and let's face it you make Alan Whicker sound Agoraphobic) you fail to see the good which comes out of all the areas you describe as shitholes. I realise this will also fall on deaf ears as your arguments, as usual backed up by newspaper articles and not personal experience, are moot as far as you're concerned.
And yes, I do see the irony of my backing up my reply with newspaper articles. It is deliberate. But believe me when I tell you you aren't the only one who's travelled the country and my experiences are generally more positive. I guess I'm just a glass half full kind of person.

The new trainers I've been waiting all week for are the wrong fecking size and some of the stitching has come away!
It's now cost me £4.80 in first class postage (I can't take the risk on second class as the package has to be returned within 7 days of receipt) and a further £3 cash contribution for the return cost. Suddenly a £48 pair of trainers is less cheap than I anticipated and I have another week or so to wait for the replacement.

The first few hundred miles will be the worst. Then you'll be over it.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

They're 'fashion shoes'. I could, of course, just wear them for special occasions. I think the blood may react badly with the blue, though. I mean who wants purple feet? Apart from this guy........

Hang on, why should you have to pay for their mistake (I take it it their mistake)? Get on the blower and give 'em your angry customer voice. The revolution has to start somewhere.
