Well its clear who he isn't accusing.
Although, I'd stand by for dog's abuse after quoting Dave Whelan.

He sounds like a Peter Kay parody.
"One hundred and fifty? Million? How'd you do that? No, no, no, something's not right there, no, something's not right. How'd you do that?!".
It cut off at the end just before he started going on about how he broke his leg.

Re: Whelan on Bolton Wanderers "where's the money"
So the line Whelan is peddling is that Eddie Davies has lost £150M over the past few seasons and it is all a big con. None of it is going to the players and it is somehow being dis-honestly "squirreled away" somewhere. And whilst this has been happening Eddie has continued to put money in and seemingly there has been no big depature and the same people are managing the money in the same way as before....
Well that sounds likely. I'm sure there are plenty of multi-millionaires who just hand over millions of pounds to people they suspect are fiddling it.
Jesus.

Nope. Just relistened to it, and I still can't hear the bit where Whelan says any of that. Have you got a link to the extended version where he does?

I think he's saying that it is beyond his imagination that you could feck up to such massive proportions as we have. You have to admit that there has been some fairly major incompetence in recent years from a number at the club.

So are you now suggesting Eddie IS putting loadsa money into the club? Because I thought he'd stopped putting in, which I thought you'd agree? Perhaps the timing is just co-incidental?

Eddie put money in upon relegation. We haven't lost 150M in a year.....so over the period Whelan is talking about Eddie was still putting money in.boltonboris wrote:Woah... He is clearly still backing the club financially and putting money into it, otherwise we'd be fecked. But that is different to saying he is prepared to invest in new long term players or managers for that matter, which seemingly he isn't now....

Even if you try and draw a conclusion from that in the way you are, it still wouldn't explain why people are still in jobs in a business Eddie owns......boltonboris wrote:So he's just putting enough in to keep us running and no more?BWFC_Insane wrote:Eddie put money in upon relegation. I just found it disrespectful how he couldn't say or perhaps remember Eddie Davies' name.
He's always been fond of having a pop at us though, I remember when he accused us of having too many foreigners when we were doing well, only to later get Roberto Martinez and a load of foreign players in himself.

I'm surprised they managed to get an interview with him.

There's A Club In The North , Son , And You're Not Part Of It
(maybe that doesn't work or is not it. here has a story on it, for those that don't remember)
this on his wiki, too..
"In January 2007 he sold £50m of shares in JJB, before selling his remaining 29% stake in June 2007. This action was in contradiction of a statement that Whelan made to the stock exchange on 26 January 2007 whereby he undertook to make no further disposals for the following 12 months. This action may now lead to an investigation by the Financial Services Authority."

Hope he gets found to have done something very seriously wrong and is banned from being involved in any professional football club in the future.
