Cracking game of football. Don't agree with the commentator on the highlights, both halves were interesting. As for the sending off or the lack there of, Barnett should have gone. He was the last man and if that would have been a Wanderers player I think that would have been the decision of the ref. Al Habsi had a blinder, thought we pressurized well and although some will disagree I think the substitutions were timed right if but the wrong player. I would have liked to have seen Robinson rather than Baptiste
Boggers, great save. I think he's slowly winning me round and could be as consistent as Jussi was. Still needs to think about rolling the ball out more when we have the option

Being the last man or not is not really relevant. Question is whether the challenge was central enough to class as denying Trotter a clear goal scoring opportunity or not. Borderline for me....TKIZ! wrote:Cracking game of football. Don't agree with the commentator on the highlights, both halves were interesting. Which team do you support again BWFCi? The ref was wrong, and you know for sure that Trotter would have beaten Al Habsi all ends up and scored...BWFC_Insane wrote:Being the last man or not is not really relevant. Re: Clash-in (with) the Lattic.
No offence BWFCi, that's nonsense. Barnett was last man, took our player out when he was clearly breaking into the box and behind him. Regardless of his position to the goal he was preventing a goalscoring opportunity.BWFC_Insane wrote:Being the last man or not is not really relevant. Re: Clash-in (with) the Lattic.
Frankly, the red card scene is becoming a bit ridiculous. Hands on players, arms blatantly wrapped around them and shirt dragging in the box are denying them scoring opportunities. It happens in every league, every week. Knight and one of their players almost got into a boxing match yesterday because the Wigan guy was being a right prxck. The ref saw it and waved a handbag at them both and it started again as soon as he turned away. If refs are going to let a more physical scenario exist, fine, then why penalties for challenges that wouldn't knock your grandma down? The Wigan player was running at our box with one thing in mind. He planted a leg where Baptiste was sure to step and did a somersault. Penalty and a yellow. Trotter was running right at goal and got deliberately tripped from behind..free kick and a yellow. Same weight for two entirely different fouls, theirs much more blatant. It does make you wonder what would have happened the other way round.

Re: Clash-in (with) the Lattic.
Last man is a media invention. As has been explained not that long ago by several referees. The point is whether it was a clear goal scoring opportunity. I'm not saying it wasn't. But he was wider and so there is some room for discussion about whether it was a red or not.TKIZ! wrote:No offence BWFCi, that's nonsense. For me it was a red. But I can see why a ref may have not done so, is all I'm saying......
Re: Clash-in (with) the Lattic.
The last man is relevant because there is no-one else other than the keeper to stop him scoring. Of course it's not just that, but you see loads of goals scored from the position Trotter was in. Absolutely no grey area there for me. I was behind that goal and could not believe my eyes. Shocking decision and one for which the referee should be reprimanded. I'd like to hear him try to justify it.
Has anyone seen it replayed?

Can't believe that Barnett wasn't sent off.
The ref cost us 3 points in that game.. Still pissed off about it.
And Al-Habsi, the ugly cvnt

Re: Clash-in (with) the Lattic.
Would really be nice if just once a daily rag would come out on the side of the angels and tell it like it really was:" Bolton batter Wigan and but for Al Habsi might well have won 6-1" instead of..: "Bogdan's late penalty heroics save Bolton's day" Sure, they did, but it hardly tells the truth of the game does it? Then again, when did a rag ever tell the truth?

Not just you. You can see him stick his right leg out to fall.boltonboris wrote:I must be alone in thinking that ugly arrogant c*nt dived for the fvckin' penalty too.
Baptiste was fecking reckless again though and made it easy for McManaman to go down and the referee to give a penalty.

Didn't pick it up at the game, looked a nailed on penalty. But he definitely played for it, looking at the replay......boltonboris wrote:I must be alone in thinking that ugly arrogant c*nt dived for the fvckin' penalty too.
Re: Clash-in (with) the Lattic.
He was looking for it certainly, but it was still a foul. Like Knight on Zaha last year, knock it past and wait to be tripped. Not up to him to try to avoid Baptiste though. I cannot see why defenders dive in on those situations! If he'd stayed on his feet McManaman wasn't getting any more than a corner.

Not so. I've mentioned it twice back in the thread. It was a blatant look for.boltonboris wrote:I must be alone in thinking that ugly arrogant c*nt dived for the fvckin' penalty too.

Re: Clash-in (with) the Lattic.
Saw the highlights on FLS and it looked like a good game.
While it would be nice to derail a few sides promotion hopes or send a side or two down that's all we can really hope for now isn't it?
You can't get more exciting than the ending and Boggers save made me do one of those 'out loud laughs' you hear so much about these days.
However next week me and my mates intend to swarm over the forecourt on monkey bikes carrying little flags saying 'We're Watching You Freedman'.

I'm not asking you to 'think outside the box' I just wish you'd have a rummage around in it once in a while.

I punched the air and shouted 'get in Boggers, you fcking cnut', which, in the cold light of day, seems a little harsh on the lad
