Tonight's Football

There ARE other teams(we'd have no-one to play otherwise) and here's where all-comers can discuss the wider world of football......

Well, there was this chap.

Hopefully he will feck off back to Spain!

And then other than for him there was this bloke.

Steve Bruce, yes Steve Bruce finished his final season at Wigan with them in 11th place.

Martinez turned them into perennial relegation strugglers who have now dropped.

I don't think that is anything to get excited about.

I also think he's one of the most annoying out there.
So - Dougie in then. :?

Well yes he's done well at Everton. Far better than I expected.

I hold my hands up.

Mind I note the comparator Steve Bruce has had an excellent season at Hull, and could be one game away from Europe. One might say not taking Bruce when we sacked Lee was one of Gartside's biggest errors.

Martinez is still a chancer. Fair play to him this year though. Once the loanees go back and he replaces their defence with a load of Spanish children they'll be f*cked.

Predicted Rodgers being good when almost everyone wrote him off, so I'm not doingtoo badly. And we'll see.

Only teasing ya :)

I think he's done better than most expected up to now, including myself.

Though it pains me to see Dave Whelan be proved right about anything.

All I'm saying is:

Young manager, well liked by the media to whom he is personable and positive, takes over a team filled with quality players assembled by a conservative 'old-school' manager (who is ginger too, but that might not be relevant here!) and takes the handbrake off, adding a central midfielder born in Scotland but who doesn't play for Scotland (I may be overdoing this here) and a number of young loanees and having an outstanding start wherein he is hailed as the best thing since sliced bread.

Sounds familiar to me. Next thing the loanees go back and are replaced by new, less good ones. Bigger clubs start sniffing around the key players.

If James McCarthy goes near Jonny Evans, they're f*cked!

Burnley leading. Almost certain to go up now I guess. No love for or against them but you have to say they've been very sure footed this season.

Blackburn beating QPR. My dislike of the media circus around 'appy 'arry makes me like that scoreline despite the Dingles being involved.

.... & Sordell has actually scored for Charlton tonight. " ... from very close range" the BEEB says.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.
"I understand you are a very good footballer" ... "I try".

Have to say I'm pleased to see how things have worked out for Gary Cahill at Chelsea. He's been immense for them in the big games.

Wonder if Rosler might live to rue his selection tonight. Eight changes from last Saturday, with an eye on the Cup this Saturday no doubt, but with Reading and Burnley in their next two games, I wonder.

You'd think one win though might be enough for them. 1 win and a draw maybe?

On a side note, Blackpool's run in looks tough....

Leeds away
Burnley home
Brighton away
Wigan away
Charlton home

Given Millwall have hit form at the right time seemingly and Charlton have a couple in hand Blackpool could be in trouble there.......

But he wasn't celebrating he was going down there to tell the strikers he'd put on not to cross the halfway line.

Blokes a genius.

What?

The bloke's a cheating c*nt. What's the technical area for? When I watched this last night it was quite obvious what he was doing by dint of the way that he was trying to get Torres and Ba out of the scrum to have a word with them. I want to see what punishment the smug, arrogant nice person receives. Who the feck does he think he is?

Genius? Seriously? Head shake time for you, I afraid.

I could disagree with you more, the guy makes my skin crawl.

Personal differences on our opinions of Mourinho aside though, you can't deny that that last night was blatant cheating?!

He can do what he likes as far as I'm concerned. Managers are always outside their technical areas now anyway.

Mourinho's brilliant.

I honestly think he could manage in absolutely any industry. The bloke is immense.
