Re: Tykes for the chop! - Barnsley (H) 12/4/14
Sat in my car across from Coast to Coast chuckling to myself at all the women shoppers of a "certain size", wearing clothes far too tight/short. Im taking this as a lucky omen and me and my beard predict a 4-1 win to the superwhites

WTF????? Changing my score prediction now a lucky 2-1 win but only when DF realises he's fecked up and makes the subs.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:XI: Bogdan, Hutton, Mills, Ream, Baptiste, Trotter, Spearing, Hall, Lee, Moritz, Beckford

He's clearly been reading SF's posts and started Moritz. So that answers the question what team do you play when Moritz starts.

Maybe he's looking at next season's team
Although we won't have Hutton and probably Moritz unless he gets some starts, like, er, today
Maybe this is Moritz's chance to earn a contract - if he can't shine against Barnsley at home he's a waste of a wage anyway
Same might go for Trotter, if he's not already signed on

There must be something worthy of Bletchley Park afoot when six of our first team are on the subs bench at kick-off..

I must admit I had thoughts of a similar nature when I saw the team.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:Maybe he's looking at next season's team

Though I'm happy to accept I may be naive, or ill informed, or just plain simple.

Looking at it another way: it's our third game in a week; the previous two went right to the whistle, and Knight, Wheater, Medo, Danns and Juke have all played three hours or so; we have options (Baptiste, Mills, Moritz, Beckford) kicking their heels on the bench.TANGODANCER wrote:There must be something worthy of Bletchley Park afoot when six of our first team are on the subs bench at kick-off..
Mason's a weirder one - he should still be fresh having only started one of the two previous games - but then again we're not in danger and he's off soon so if Moritz makes a couple of goals who cares?
As an aside, it looks like Trotter isn't in that more advanced role, so I hope it helps him start to find his feet... but might he also have licence to bomb forward in a side with only one "defensive" midfielder? Is this an attacking (from midfield) team designed to please the home punters? I suppose we'll see...

The word being used to describe DF on the East stand upper concourse is "Feckwit" by people equally confused as to his team selection as I am. Df is a fecking idiot making so many changes to a winning side.Enoch wrote:I must admit I had thoughts of a similar nature when I saw the team.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:Maybe he's looking at next season's team

I understand resting Juke, as with Mason leaving he wont get much of a rest in the final games. Mason not on makes no sense unless injured.

Thought: Have Mason and Beckford ever played together?

I'm prepared to be astounded. Indeed, I'll happily bow to the corner if it works. Here's hoping.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:Looking at it another way: it's our third game in a week; the previous two went right to the whistle, and Knight, Wheater, Medo, Danns and Juke have all played three hours or so; we have options (Baptiste, Mills, Moritz, Beckford) kicking their heels on the bench.TANGODANCER wrote:There must be something worthy of Bletchley Park afoot when six of our first team are on the subs bench at kick-off..

Re: Tykes for the chop! - Barnsley (H) 12/4/14
Beckford's fit - is he not still our top scorer this season?
I thought people wanted the attacking flair of Moritz and Hall at home? no?
the only thing in there people haven't asked for at some point or other - is trotter (and it looks like he's been withdrawn to a deeper non-dannsy role)
the only thing NOT in there that people have asked for at some point or other is all the kids...
and - Knight's not there - which is what everyone once wanted.

Of course it has just added a little to Mason's perceived value among some fans.Abdoulaye's Twin wrote:Mason not on makes no sense unless injured.
Why risk playing him and destroying the the myth? This way he can return next term with his hero status intact.
