Exactly. It was the same late last season ... except our league position made it more interesting.

Personally I still think he's a chancer.
well - that's certainly one letter better than what BWFCi thought of Coyle!

Wonder of SF still maintains Moritz should start games?! One of the worst, laziest, pathetic performances at the Reebok. If I was gaffer, he'd have been dragged off by his hair by the half hour mark.

And what's worse is he is supposedly playing for a new contract here or elsewhere........

Elsewhere please. I've never boo'd a player (since Ricketts handed in a transfer request), but yesterday, I actually felt an inclination. Fortunately, common sense stepped in.

Must admit I thought his sub appearances warranted a start over trotter, I was wrong. I'd happily release him now.

Of course. He has his flaws but he's a good player. Why would it be surprising that throwing several players into a team and playing a different system doesn't work? It's ridiculous to judge players off a game like that, especially a player in Moritz's position which relies heavily on link up play.

Yesterday's game obviously means nothing. Moritz was likely rusty and was playing in a confused team. If he puts in performances like that when he and his teammates are playing in a consistent set up, criticism would be fair but he obviously can't be judged off what happened yesterday.

Looked like he was playing off a striker in a 442 to me.

You'll have to run that one by me again mate.

Are you suggesting he's started a game in a different system?? Because I bet you'd be talking out of your bottom.

Ability, yes. But he can't. Nay, won't run. Anywhere. For anything.

I'm not one of these, "run around like a dick or else you're shit" types. Far from it. But he's do immobile, it was seriously like playing with 10 men. In fact, the way he used the ball, it would've been better to have 10 men. Seriously.

I thought you were advocating Moritz just behind a striker or alongside one... Dougie did just that... what was it about the system that made Moritz so ineffective? how was the system so different? not sure I understand what you are suggesting...

With his goals against Leeds & Blackburn and a motm performance according to many in a rare start at home to Doncaster, Moritz does have at least a few credits in the bank doesn't he? Trotter on the other hand...

Credits might go against poor performances.

But not against lazy disinterested ones.

Trotter was significantly better than Moritz on the day and showed he has some decent touches in him.

↑↑↑ mmmmm

Trotter's was as inept a performance as I've seen ... ever .. since our Div 4 days.

I sat with Norpig from here and in the 2nd half we watched him specifically. He was devastatingly poor.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

That is some hyperbole. It wasn't even the worst performance from a Bolton player that game.

Trotter was far from good, but was not terrible either.

Moritz was certainly the poorest player in the first half. A disgrace to himself and his own abilities that speaks volumes for his lack of professional pride. Trotter was poor throughout. but not a disgrace. He can't help it. Moritz can. Trotter is a lot easier to forgive. Moritz has infinitely more to give if he decides to give it. I'd not be unhappy if both went at the end of the season.

I'll accept that Moritz has less excuse. But I'd still rather have hus potential that Trotter's complete lack of it.

That said I'd take your option to have neither.

So true - here and, were we to deal only with 'our' players - also the 'Player of the Season' thread...

It would be very nice not to repeat the tallest dwarf argument at the end of next season...
