Player of the Season

Post by Bijou Bob » Sat Apr 12, 2014 9:37 pm

We're almost at the end of the season and few have covered themselves in glory. So, who gets your vote for player of the season?

Tim Ream for me, slightly ahead of Bogdan.

You should have done a poll, like in the good old days.

Only one possible name, the man who saved our championship lives.

Lukas Jutkiewicz.

1. Juke
2. Danns
3. Ream (& I never thought I'd say that)

We didn't have a season worth arguing about until the Juke arrived. He'll play a dozen or so games and be the choice of the vast majority...

This has been a miserable, miserable season... and how!

I'm reluctant to pick a loan player off 12 games but given the season we've had Juke is the obvious one. Of our own players though Ream and his amazing resurrection is the only candidate for me. Outdid Spearing as a DM, I'd pick him every time over Baptiste at LB, and he even did OK in his stated position of CB. Not always convincing but versatile and bounced back from a horrible run of form.
Special mention for Danns as well.

Ream would be my pick. His performances deserve even more credit considering he has been shifted around to positions he's not suited to.

I seem to remember certain posters saying they'd get rid of him on a free...

Yes .... I did. I was wrong. Will I be as wrong on Trotter ?

Juke and Danns are the only ones getting any credit from me this season. The rest have stumbled along shiteness and mediocrity for too much of the season to deserve anything.

Danns, probably, for me, mainly because he's had more outings than Duke.
Probably Duke second.
Bogdan third, there's been quite a lot of games when Bogdan has kept us in it with some class saves.

The Juke, Ream and Danns for me. Rumours on the grapevine is that Danns has signed a pre-contract agreement. I think we look a different prospect with him on the pitch
Pfffft.

Danns, Mills, Duke in that order for me.

Bogdan and Spearing would be up there if the season had started in Feb, but both were utter site pre-xmas so no.

Ream much better than he was but still not good enough. Strikers can get away with 3 good games and 1 shocker in every 4. Defenders cannot. If we can get money for him, thank you and goodnight.

For attitude and effort and considering he's only sixteen inches tall, Spearing for me (although I'll defer to most opinions because of not going to games)

Last season, yes. This season he was very poor until January(ish) couldn't hit a three yard pass, ball played to no-one in particular, etc. He's been better since our upturn, but then again so have most of the players.

Danns for me. I don't think Jukebox has played enough games to be judged ovver a whole season.

The Wanderers are coming up the hill boys,
They all laugh at us, they all mock at us,
They all say our days are numbered,

Born to be a Wanderer, victorious are we....

Normally no. But given how poor the season has been so few candidates can be associated with as much positivity and positive change as Juke...

Even Danns was a starter in the mauling at Reading.

Juke is one of the few players at the moment we have who I really enjoy watching. And I'm gutted, genuinely when he isn't playing.

Yep it is early days and of course he will have his own problems we discover over time but for now, I can't think of anyone else.

Leicester decided that Danns'Mills and Beckford weren't needed at their place this season''look where they are now!! And they are being lauded on here as if they are Frank Worthy..Shows how quickly we've fallen.Bogdan for me' he's been a class act since ripping his shirt back from Lonergan.Surprised he hasn't been connected to a move back to a PL Club .
