Re: Tonight's Football
Brilliant stuff from Jose as mentioned set up his team to negate all of Liverpool's attacking threats. Liverpool had lots of position and in the first half and basically had Chelsea pinned in their own box. I think if you take out the Gerrard mistake then what Jose had in mind and what really ended up happening would have been exactly the same. Chelsea really frustrated Liverpool and made the most of what few opportunities they had.

City are going to win the Premiership on goal difference again.

When asked to analyse the game today Mourinho said 'Ask Jamie Redknapp to analyse it, he has a brilliant football mind'.
Seems like Redknapps' comments in the press upset Jose which explains why he was so wound up today.

You and I disagree on Mourinho's persona. I've no idea why you refer to him as "Jose" like he's a busom buddy of yours, but absolute credit where it's due. Have we had a response from Redknapp yet?

Re: Tonight's Football
these folk making "park the bus" "only one team came to attack" type comments on the internet obviously are not old enough to remember bruce grobbelaar and them playing 'let the keeper hold onto it for 75 minutes timewaste' of the pre-backpass rule days.

Re: Tonight's Football
Nothing ... fckg nothing ... in football this season now would make me happier than to see this lot overtaken in the final furlong. If Gerrard has to think it was, in the end, his fault then all the better.
As I said 4 or 5 years ago on here ... " ... it's the hope that kills you".

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Re: Tonight's Football
Rather see Bury win it than Liverpool. The media wankfest is bad enough already, the "we did it for the 96", the 'Stevie deserves it", the inference that it will be good for football and that Liverpool are everyone's second club.Worthy4England wrote:Couldn't be doing with Chelsea winning it...
The fckg arrogance of their fans.
Sorry, not an occurrence I could cope with.

I hope Chelsea win nothing, Liverpool bottle it and City win it in style.
Someone should have asked Mourhino about Big Sam's 19th Century football. He's been copying Sam for years, like Sam said 10 years ago with his SuperBolton comments!

I think one might have a glance at their respective records before making such an assertion.....LeverEnd wrote:I hope Chelsea win nothing, Liverpool bottle it and City win it in style.

Re: Tonight's Football
I'm glad Liverpool lost, and even happier that it was as a result of a Gerrard cock up, but I think people are overstating Jose's 'tactical genius' in this game. The first goal was due to an error, and the second late on when Liverpool were chasing the game. Couldn't see them scoring otherwise (which I think makes it all that much sweeter)
