The most lackadaisical defending I've seen for a very long time .... Zat notwithstanding.Andy Waller wrote:I do like the relaxed approach to defending from that lad at left back on Danns' goal.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Nobody impressed by trotter's goal ? No goalkeeper or defender to blame for it.

I was! but then I'm the one who said Trotter will turn out to be a revelation next season! it's happening earlier than I thought!irie Cee Bee wrote:Nobody impressed by trotter's goal ? No goalkeeper or defender to blame for it.

Yes, he took the ball on his chest and went forward with real purpose then released a pile-driver. Great stuff and all credit to him. Cracking goal and so was theirs.irie Cee Bee wrote:Nobody impressed by trotter's goal ? No goalkeeper or defender to blame for it.

Not sure I like our defending style. Defenders 2 metres off the man on the ball isn't good for the heart. A few times no one seemed to want to approach the man on the ball at all. We'll get punished by good teams if we carry on like that.

We do and we have done. That's why we're mid-table in the Championship.Vertigo wrote:Not sure I like our defending style. Defenders 2 metres off the man on the ball isn't good for the heart. However I thought their goal was even betterer.

Their goal was indeed a belter, ours wasn't bad and fair play to him. Still don't rate him mind.bobo the clown wrote:He did ... and it was.TANGODANCER wrote:Yes, he took the ball on his chest and went forward with real purpose then released a pile-driver. Sounded like a completely composed and professional win.. The first of many more hopefully. Haven't seen the highlights yet, but have seen the Trotter goal.. Fook me, what a hit! Sounded like it could and should've been more too and great once again to see academy players getting time
After a pretty appalling start, Liam's beginning to look like a player now.

Wanking off about something that even I have managed to do on occasion is not my thing. Was it a decent goal? Yes. Was it amazing? No. The other fella hit the ball much cleaner and had less of a 'welly' about it. Disagree with me if you like, but do fcuk off with your patronising posts.

One from the edge of a box through a crowded goalmouth the other from what? 35/40 yards on the half volley.
They were both fantastic goals. I don't know why you'd try and pretend otherwise? Unless you're trying to justify an unrelated opinion??

↑↑↑ I don't think he did deny it was "a belter" .... just that a cracking shot doesn't suddenly make him a cracking player.

Now I don't know how much football he's seen this season, but crikey if Trotter's goal only classifies as "wasn't bad", must be watching some high level stuff every week.
As for your second point, I agree. Though he's steadily improved week on week.
As I said go back a year and several premiership clubs were chasing him and he was week in week out Millwall's best player. In the league we're in. It was obvious he had a bad start here, but also obvious from his past history that he wasn't a total stump!

Re: Irritable Owl Syndrome
Wasn't bad = decent, pretty good. I thought being British you'd not need help with understatement. Belter is about as high as I get enthusiasm wise, which lets face it, isn't much. Bobo is right though, one decent goal doesn't change my opinion of him as a whole. He seems to have improved a bit the last couple of games, but I've not seen anything, nor heard anything to suggest he's better than pretty much anyone we have in midfield. Time will tell, but so far I'd say we've wasted our time with him at the expense of players we do own.

And I think he offers more height and power in midfield which is something we've definitely lacked this season.

Surely he needs a head of steam to approach a description of power?BWFC_Insane wrote:Trotter will be here next season I believe......Abdoulaye's Twin wrote:Wasn't bad = decent, pretty good. So ... Medo to go do you reckon ? He'll fetch a fee at present as we go on our downgrading exercise.

We need to keep some senior players. Medo to stay I'd say. Medo, Spearing, Trotter, Mark Davies.bobo the clown wrote:Well he's an obstacle, I'll grant him that.Abdoulaye's Twin wrote:Surely he needs a head of steam to approach a description of power?BWFC_Insane wrote:Trotter will be here next season I believe......Abdoulaye's Twin wrote:Wasn't bad = decent, pretty good. 4 senior midfield players.
I think they'll try and shift Pratley (is his contract up?) possibly.
And of course there is a chance Mark Davies goes if someone bids money for him.

(NB there's always Josh Vela... he's 20 now.)
