I've got the perfect antidote for you Harry... John Cage's 4'33" - spiffing, it is.Harry Genshaw wrote:'Mystery tracks' at the end of cds. What's the point? It ain't original and it's bloody annoying listening to 3 or 4 minutes of silence before this extra track kicks in. You can't even fast forward onto it![]()
The music on my drive into work is sometimes the only thing that keeps me sane during the commute. More of these long periods of silence and I'll be driving into a crowded bus stop

Speaking of e-cig users - they've increased like rabbits at work. Five of the feckers now congregate around the equivalent of our bike shed. But, somehow (touch electronic wood), the hordes of artificial smokers have not penetrated my inner sanctum. I've not had to stare hard at the originators of wafts of nicotine laden vapours heading my way for a while now.

Andre Robinson, 21, of Brooklyn, filmed with his friends (laughing having a right good time) after the cvnt lured a cat and then kicked it. I'll pay anybody who kicks that nice person.

That was a fun evening
Ceiling in the kitchen collapsed last night due to the water heater leaking a few gallons of water. On the plus side I think I've managed to rescue the electrical stuff and the AC is still working...

Re: Today I'm angry about.....
I reported on here an few weeks ago that the village U16's footy team I coach made it to a cup final. Well, we played last night and lost 4-2.
I'm more than angry about this, since in the last few weeks, the opposition managed to recruit 3 new players that had just been released from Wrexham F.C. as they weren't 'taken on' and given professional contracts.
Over the years, this fixture has always been close and normally we come out on top. Not last night though. The new recruits made them into a stronger outfit and they were deserved winners on the night.
Its somewhat disappointing that their coach(s) decided that winning was everything and signed these new players, who'd not played in the previous rounds, presumably at the cost of other lads who had played for them.
A hollow victory.
Our lads were gutted. More so because they knew what had happened and felt cheated.
Still, we play them again in the last match of the season (which will be the time the lads will ever play in the same team together, since the league doesn't run beyond U16's). It would be absolutely fantastic if we beat them.

If reducing the wage bill is his only aim, then yes, why not. He could do worse. As he regularly demonstrates.......thebish wrote:Always hopeful wrote:I reported on here an few weeks ago that the village U16's footy team I coach made it to a cup final. Well, we played last night and lost 4-2.

Re: Today I'm angry about.....
Pot hunting has gone on forever. Even in very amateur football quite a few players wait till they see who's in with the chance of trophies and offer to sign on. Not unknown to find semi-pros playing under false names at season end. As you say, it's the poor sods left out who've played all season that really lose out. .Always hopeful wrote:

What on God's Green Earth would make people do this, and I assume, think it's funny, or has some form of justification ??

A blind woman who was regularly sworn at by bullies and nearly mugged took to wearing a body camera so police could identify the culprits.
Siobhan Meade, 30, said the weekly abuse she suffered relating to her disability "nearly destroyed" her life.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Re: Today I'm angry about.....
I've been looking for a maths tutor for my son, so far without success. However yesterday I had contact from a site for tutors saying that someone had left me a message re tutoring.
The message read:
"Hi, is you still looking for tutor for son. I have physics, chemistry and maths tutoring. Exam is coming soon and need to hurry. I am vailable at the moment, my rate £25 pe hour."
I'm not particularly angry, I just despair.
