I'm just wondering how you'd possibly know that he's an arrogant c*nt. Seems the opposite to me..bwfcdan94 wrote:because you personally know every footballer you've ever made a comment on.
Seems an approachable, affable family man who gets on with his team mates and has time for fans..
But you must know better...

I notice you've left out the lazy part. Because I really don't think that's in question. And the rest is irrelevant.boltonboris wrote:I'm just wondering how you'd possibly know that he's an arrogant c*nt. Re: Swansea release David N Gog
N'gog should always have played for somewhere like Oxford United. He was never ever capable of performing for Liverpool, Bolton, or Swansea. He could obviously get on the pitch and play just like that Souness signing who was somebody's cousin. That was his level. He's like an engineering student who struggles with maths - what's the f*ckin point. I don't care what his personality is, he's just not very good at what he was paid vast sums for.

N'Gog may have an issue in the swede and he may have the heart of a mouse, he certainly doesn't lack football ability. Very frustrating in my eyes.
Beckford I don't see as lazy. He's often been ineffective, frustrated with himself, but an intelligent footballer who's touch has largely deserted him of late. I certainly get the impression he's an affable type.

An issue in the Swede?
I'll give you that. For free.
He lacks football ability. Full stop - that's my contention... it is based on watching him attempt to "play" football. He can't.

I can forgive a lot on a football pitch. Beckford's lack of effort, epitomised by his disgraceful performance against Brum on the last day, I cannot.Enoch wrote:N'Gog may have an issue in the swede and he may have the heart of a mouse, he certainly doesn't lack football ability. Every single player can put full effort in if they want to, it requires nowt more than application.
Beckford chooses to sulk rather than fight.
Can't be doing with it.
Re: Swansea release David N Gog
A bit like Moritz's vs Barnsley. Really winds me up. You see a bit of something in these players and want to like them, but performances like that make it very difficult. Danns had a shocker, but not through lack of effort. I can handle that.BWFC_Insane wrote:I can forgive a lot on a football pitch. Re: Swansea release David N Gog
I really wanted Beckford to be great for us, and a little bit of me still thinks he may bang a few in next season but his body language in the Birmingham game was awful.
I wasn't going to post this next bit, and haven't done inthe few months I've known about it because it sounds like the kind of thing you hear in the pub, but here goes - Dougie was strongly advised NOT to sign Beckford. I don't know if it was desperation on his part to get more of his own players in and Coyles lot out, but he took a punt when a lot of important folk were telling him not to.

I'm aware it's fashionable in some quarters to boo players who don't run around like headless chickens, achieving nothing (and, similarly, praise those who do achieve sod-all, but sometimes run to put a late tackle in, half-an hour after the ball has been booted forward before strolling back to the half-way line to wait, hands on hips, for the next chance to cock something up) but suggesting Beckford is lazy is just nonsense.
I didn't go to many games last season (couldn't be arsed, to be honest - I no longer really care whether they win or lose), but watching Beckford on that last game getting booed by his own "supporters" every time he was fouled was an intriguing experience. There was one occasion in particular, in the second half, after he did a rather good turn to get past two players on the half-way line before sprinting forward with no in in support and losing out to three players who crowded him out, when the chap sat behind me started booing him again.
But there you go, eh? I'm too apathetic to boo anyone these days. Couldn't even be bothered to stay to boo the team on their lap of dishonour.

You only have to compare the workrate of Jutkiewicz and Beckford.Puskas wrote:Sounds like b*llocks to me.Harry Genshaw wrote: I wasn't going to post this next bit, and haven't done inthe few months I've known about it because it sounds like the kind of thing you hear in the pub, but here goes - Dougie was strongly advised NOT to sign Beckford. Beckford is embarrassing. Would rather wave his arms at the referee than fight for a 50/50 ball.
Nobody is talking about running round like a headless chicken, just putting the graft in when required.
Beckford is also a million miles off being talented enough to act in the way he does.

Did he not finish as our top goalscorer? Don't give a toss about his perceived 'attitude'. If he's knocking 'em in, he plays. And anyone who boos a player who pulls on a Bolton shirt is a shit fan.

Re: Swansea release David N Gog
^^ Gary mate, you didn't see his performance against Birmingham.
Not just poor touch or not mobile, his attitude throughout simply stank. Almost like he just didn't want to be there. Whinged, dived, pulled out of tackles, chased nothing, looked utterly un-involved.
If he has spirit he'd not just be the top scorer he'd be streets ahead and an absolute hero. But he hasn't ... & he's not.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

That's not my point. I don't give a toss about his attitude. He scores goals. Goals win games. If he's being booed whilst on the pitch it's hardly going to be conducive to a positive attitude is it?

Danns was piss poor that match. But no-one got on his back, he was trying .... but failing. This guy never tried. Booing isn't helpful, but if anyone ever deserved that it was him that day.

Okay. I see.
But I have never, and will never, boo a player. At worst it demoralises them. If I were in that position I'd say ''feck you too''.
At worstest it confuses the team as they don't necessarily understand who the boos are directed at.

He is lazy. No getting away from it.
And top scorer yes, but he missed an awful lot of chances too. I think he makes decent runs. But when he doesn't get the ball he sulks rather than knuckle down and go again.
What is frustrating is he's a big lad with a bit of pace. If he put himself about a bit and made life hard for defenders he'd be invaluable. But he just doesn't. It is infuriating.
Jutkiewicz showed exactly how to lead the line. Mason showed how to run defences ragged.
Beckford if he so chose could do either. But he doesn't.
