Not seen that. What happened ?jaffka wrote:Another twist in the case.

Clearly a paid for, brought in 'expert' ... which I assume both the prosecution and the judge are quite capable of spotting a mile off. This has all the hallmarks of calling her bluff.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

I didn't know about it either until Jaffka mentioned it.
Here you go. I'm looking forward to when I get home so that I can watch the vid with the sound up.

Certainly did him no favours and definitely did nothing to change my opinion, not like it counts any way.
Re: General Chit Chat
I really, really dislike cats. I think they are horrible creatures that kill other animals for fun (I know it is their instinct). They also know I dislike them and they normally snake round my legs and generally annoy me.
This is the first cat I have ever liked.

As an aside, how much cctv has that street got ! A residential street.
Also as an aside .... that mother's a hottie.

Like Bish I question what on earth the owners of the dog were doing letting it on the street like that.
IMO other than in people's private homes dogs should be required to be on a lead by law at all times. In any public place. Simply too dangerous otherwise.

Re: General Chit Chat
Bollox. It all depends on the dog. Most dogs wouldn't say boo to a goose and are perfectly capable of being off-lead. Unsupervised is a different matter - no dog should be left loose and unsupervised - that is a stray, which should be rounded up.BWFC_Insane wrote:I like cats. And that was amazing. I agree, but the point is nobody knows for sure which dog will attack a child and which won't.Lost Leopard Spot wrote:Bollox. It all depends on the dog. Ensuring they are always on a lead in a public place mitigates the risk at least in public areas.
It also avoids the general nuisance of off-lead dogs bothering people who don't want someone elses dog running up to them and jumping at them or shaking its wet fur all over them.
Personally I think it would be eminently sensible.

What exactly do you think differentiates a dog on a lead from a dog off a lead doing exactly the things you complain about. My dog does not shake its fur at anybody whether on or off lead. My dog would as soon run and greet you and jump up as I would poke my eyes out with a burnt stick.
And this law of yours, have you thought of the consequences for the poor dogs - for example some dogs can only get enough exercise (in London for example) on public parcels of land. Being on lead all the time would doom them to a miserable confined existence.
And the consequence for the lawmakers - for example the headaches engendered just by trying to define "on a lead at all times" - what constitutes a lead? how long must it be, how strong?
It's the f*cking Nanny state gorn mad.

At the moment I'm sat in the office, on my lunch. A colleague has brought her baby in. It's screaming and has 5hat itself. Right now I'd love a dog to be running around here instead. Wet fur or not!BWFC_Insane wrote: It also avoids the general nuisance of off-lead dogs bothering people who don't want someone elses dog running up to them and jumping at them or shaking its wet fur all over them.

i'm not at all sure about dogs being on leads at all times in all public places... BUT - they should be under control. the one in the video clearly isn't under control. they certainly should no tbe allowed to roam onto other people's property. (why we allow cats to do that, I'll never know!)

I don't think it was public cctv but part of the father's home security system with cameras round the house. His neighbour's security system seems to be a poorly trained and restrained dog. Dog will presumably be put to sleep and another million dollar law suit to settle.bobo the clown wrote:Same here.
