Knight's replacement....TKIZ! wrote:Could Wheats be going to Boro in player exchange for The Juke if this Dervite is a CB there must be movement somewhere?

But on a weirder note would also leave us with 4 CB (Mills, Ream, Wheats and Dervite)BWFC_Insane wrote:Knight's replacement....TKIZ! wrote:Could Wheats be going to Boro in player exchange for The Juke if this Dervite is a CB there must be movement somewhere?

Ream will be LB cover.TKIZ! wrote:But on a weirder note would also leave us with 4 CB (Mills, Ream, Wheats and Dervite)BWFC_Insane wrote:Knight's replacement....TKIZ! wrote:Could Wheats be going to Boro in player exchange for The Juke if this Dervite is a CB there must be movement somewhere?
I mean you'd want 4 centre backs really. And with Ream covering a couple of positions would be about right......

We need good cover for every position for injury protection and to keep all on their toes I would imagine. Its a long season.TKIZ! wrote:But on a weirder note would also leave us with 4 CB (Mills, Ream, Wheats and Dervite)BWFC_Insane wrote:Knight's replacement....TKIZ! wrote:Could Wheats be going to Boro in player exchange for The Juke if this Dervite is a CB there must be movement somewhere?

A "footballing" centre half. Interesting. Very interesting.
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

True, I'm just playing Devil's advocate. If we sign Dervite how would the back four line up?BWFC_Insane wrote:Ream will be LB cover.TKIZ! wrote:But on a weirder note would also leave us with 4 CB (Mills, Ream, Wheats and Dervite)BWFC_Insane wrote:Knight's replacement....TKIZ! wrote:Could Wheats be going to Boro in player exchange for The Juke if this Dervite is a CB there must be movement somewhere?

Re: Abdoulaye's going t'Souk transfer thread
For promotion we need a good balance - experience, toughness, willingness and being played in the right position.... you get the picture. So, firstly, I can't see that line-up having what it takes.
The first question is, is where is Tierney up to with his injury? Back next year? I think Ream is no more than a stop-gap on the left. And I'd want to partner a "footballer" like the French lad with a lump like Wheater. Admittedly, Mills is also an uncultured lump, but...
And what about Baptiste? Sure, he's been a little poor this season, but we can't just write off the big chunks of wages we're paying the three who've dropped out of you line up, nor at least some of their experience, in favour of youth and inexperience. Can we?

Unless Ream really is off to west Brom? Seems less likely given Mel's departure but I'm not sure that he had too much say in signings anyway.
Not looking promising for Bolger.

Mills was our best defender last season. For me he is first defender on the team sheet next season.Lord Kangana wrote:For promotion we need a good balance - experience, toughness, willingness and being played in the right position.... you get the picture. Tierney supposedly back for pre season.
Threlkeld deserves a chance if he has a decent pre season.
Re: Abdoulaye's going t'Souk transfer thread
I understand that Tierney could have played in the last couple of games but it was decided, quite rightly, that it would be better not to risk him and wait until next season.
I feel reborn !!!! No more confussion
Re: Abdoulaye's going t'Souk transfer thread
Yes that's what I read, so he should be fit as a butcher's dog after pre-season. Unless Dougie decides to put him through some long-winded personal programme to get him fully ready. Like Trotter.Riviman wrote:I understand that Tierney could have played in the last couple of games but it was decided, quite rightly, that it would be better not to risk him and wait until next season.

I booed him as soon as I heard he was on the verge of signing.
He'll be rubbish. Like the rest of them.

If they both get him maybe we'll get Juke AND Mason
.

Re: Abdoulaye's going t'Souk transfer thread
Cardiff have had a bid accepted for Grabban. Could well be that we try for Mason on loan for the whole season this time? In related news Cardiff 'earned' £62m from 20th place finish in Premier League! The same as ManUre did for the season before

Re: Abdoulaye's going t'Souk transfer thread
BEN reports that a deal for Liam Feeney is more or less completed and the Devite one IS completed.
Looks like he's achieving his goal of having most of his transfers completed early.
I'm anticipating Mavies & Medo and maybe Lee may exit and another couple yet to arrive.
Still need the Juke & A N Other up front unless he has faith in the youths but this current squad isn't too shabby and is certainly HIS so let's see if he can turn them into a team.
GK ... Bogdan, Lonergan
FB ... Baptiste, Tierney, Threlkeld
CH .... Wheater, Dervite, Ream, Mills
Rather over-loaded midfield ... Spearing, Medo, Vela, Trotter, Danns, Davies M, Pratley
Wingers ... Hall, Lee, Feeney
Forward ... Beckford
Promising Youth ... Iliev, Clough, Lester, Kellett, White, Youngs
Permacrocks ... Riley, Holden
Eaves, Odelusi, Davies C & Andrews I am assuming will exit.
