Im due some work and you lot aren't helping!

Some years ago, following a bit of a kerfuffle in Strangeways nick, all their prisoners ended up in Police cells, which wasn't the fairly cushy routine they were used to. We had daily requests to visit the doctor, until we brought the doctor to them and then one crafty con thought, "I know, I'll say Ive got toothache. That way, I get a trip in the sunshine to the dentist and drugs of some kind shoved into my body".

We took him to some dentist in Lowton. I walked in to check it out before we allowed him out of the van and nearly collapsed. The entirely white tiled room was like a mortuary, cold and bright, with a single 1930's leather chair in the centre of the room. Horse hair protruded from the seat pad which had an ugly dark circular stain in the centre. The dentist, bless him, looked like some mad professor with wild grey hair, a filthy white coat speckled with blood and four days growth. He was wearing odd socks, but had a jaunty red hankie in his pocket and a bow tie.

Poor lad tried to back out as soon as we got him in there, but there wasn't much he could do once handcuffed to the chair.

No one ever asked to go again.

↑↑↑ excellent. I guess they use that room for such purposes.

".... oy, guys , who fancies dressing up as the mad dentist today ?"
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

On a literary site I frequent, one poster reported another to the mods for abuse, Poster 1 said, "I don't see why you are struggling to understand this point...blah blah.( nothing stronger than that) " Poster two contacted the mods and complained of personal abuse, and asked did posters have to put up with such treatment? Poster 1 got a warning from the head honcho. ....unbelievable.

From the BBC preview of Barca-Atletico:

"Barcelona victory: Barcelona win the title

Draw: Atletico take the title

Atletico win: Atletico clinch the title"

How pointless must you feel as you sit there thinking of a third verb you could use for winning a title. Pricks.

It's like footballers 'penning' a contract. One of my pet hates that, just because they've used the word 'signing' elsewhere in the article.

At half time, it's a win rather than a take or a clinch. I think that's a really useful way of being able to describe it. Thank you BBC! :-)

Jesus, I was doing that 10 years ago. The consultants didn't half make a meal out of it .... at their £200 an hour x as many as we were daft enough to let get on the gravy train.

PM's to similar minded, bored people also on the Conference Call can liven things up.

Yeah, it's just not gone away. Means a load of extra audit procedures that we have to do when reporting to the US which are a pain in the arse. Some seriously stupid questions coming our way though...

Today I am happy because my first interview at this business in Crowthorne went very well, infact they invited me to a second interview with the owner of the business. The second interview took place on Friday and it went so well that at the end of it I was offered the job! While it does mean sadly I won't be able to move beautiful Bolton in the near future, I do at least have a job and will be able to go and watch the super Whites as much as I want next season! which lets be honest is what really matters to me. I am now officially an accountant. I have also passed another exam last week. Perseverance and hard work pays and I admit that Dujon was right that given I applied for 1 job down here and 300 in the north west and got the 1 that I applied for down here that it was sound advice by him to tell me to apply for ones down south as well as in the north west. I would like to thank those of you that helped me(and you know who you are) for giving me advice both on applications and c.v's.

The title is Junior accountant, I work 3 days the week and will continue studying AAT at a local college with the financial backing of the business 2 days a week(although this last bit hasn't been confirmed)

And now I'm apoplectic at LLS using despoiling in that context!
