That woman on your right! her eyes are shining in a very peculiar way... almost demonic.

She runs a pole dancing school. Her husband is the big bugger in the previous picture, and a fireman. You've no chance.

Do you know the dancer's name (or stage name), Gary? I think I know her...

She's called Amber Topaz. Based in London but from Rotherham originally. http://www.ambertopaz.co.uk/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I was very happy to be the foil for her act. :P

Actually that's not who I thought it was but I do sort of know her after all.

She compered an event my girlfriend's band sang in a few months ago. Doing the whole 'professional northerner' thing, if I recall.

Calls herself the 'Yorkshire Tease' :)

I did wonder if your other half knew her.

I've recently made a few trips through Lilhulton to get to the tip - I've got out of gardening but "Spring cleaning" is in full flow.

The vogue seems to be fluorescent orange and pink tops. I can see that given the right circumstances, some people might look quite racey in them - with a moderate amount of tequila slammers, some hard drugs and the benefit of being somewhere on a beach-front.

In Lilhulton, it's like driving through a sea of fcking space hoppers.

Here's some more from Henri the existential cat:

In a world that has decided
That it's going to lose its mind
Be more kind, my friends, try to be more kind.

There were some really interesting interviews about D-Day on Radio 2 this morning, a mix of veterans, historians and even a meteorologist. The format made it seem a bit partridge-esque though:

'What a lot of people don't know is that 12,000 French civilians losts their lives in the build up to D-Day, and a further 3,000 on the day of the invasion itself......here's lighthouse family with 'wherever you go' '

After a couple of days walking to school with number one son, coz the missus is poorly, today I met "Shouty man with dog". Shouty man appears to be fairly well known to the general populace (other than me). His object this morning was a woman trying to turn right, across the traffic, coming out of a side road garage. He heads into the garage of a morning to pick up the paper.

By the time I arrived at the scene he was already of a kerfuffle. "Stupid bitch. Why's she trying to turn right. I've been waiting there 15 minutes."

Well you'd been waiting less than two, but a fair point Shouty Man, it is tough turning right there at 8:30 in the morning. Kudos. Carry on Screaming.

That reminds me of this urban legend at primary school. Basically there was this old guy who lived in the area around our primary school, he smoked heavily and used to spit on the ground. He was therefore known simply as 'spit man'. It got to the point where if you were in a lesson, even if the teacher was mid sentence if someone spotted him they'd shout 'Spit man!', and everyone would run to the classroom windows just to watch him walk past the school gates.
