The year 2014 and someone is being sentenced to death in an eastern country for being a Christian. We've come a long way since Biblical times. There's still an awful lot wrong with some peoples' heads.Lost Leopard Spot wrote:So me, a Buddhist Atheist, is angry that a Christian is condemned to death for being a Christian, and you a Christian 'pastor' enters the debate because of her photoshopped wedding photothebish wrote:the skin tones have been blurred/softened quite severely in photoshop or an equivalent.. it is often done for portraits...bobo the clown wrote:I knew he reminded me of someone.Bijou Bob wrote:Is it just me or does she look like Whitney Houston??
There's some serious make-up on the pair of them for that photo.

Yeah. Quite severe photo-shopping for a start !!TANGODANCER wrote:The year 2014 and someone is being sentenced to death in an eastern country for being a Christian. We've come a long way since Biblical times. There's still an awful lot wrong with some peoples' heads.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

are you expecting some kind of "debate" where some folk say - yeah - the death sentence is totally reasonable? If so - I suspect you're looking in the wrong place...
i have no idea why it is important to you to define yourself as one thing and me as another - as if either definition makes the slightest bit of difference about how much either of us might find this death-sentence repulsive...

Not angry, just shocked/sad. Found out last night a friend of mine hanged himself. Just gutted.

Less so in recent years, but was definitely a member of our 'crew' through school and sixth form. Such a fecking shame.bwfcdan94 wrote:God that's sh*t Beefheart, was he close?Beefheart wrote:Not angry, just shocked/sad. Found out last night a friend of mine hanged himself. Just gutted.
Re: Today I'm angry about.....
That's a real shame, I would suggest at some point in the nearish future getting in the touch with the rest of your crew from your school days to relive the good times as it were.Beefheart wrote:Less so in recent years, but was definitely a member of our 'crew' through school and sixth form. Been to yet another NHS Public Health event today, at which mainly obese NHS managers scoffed biscuits and talked about the bottle of wine they were looking forward to later. You couldn't make it up. I'm determined to get on the speaking list at the next one and start by pointing out that pontificating about diabetes, heart disease and liver failure is just a bit fecking rich.

Yeah, you'd at least expected to have Ramsay or Marco. Cutbacks I guess.
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

Re: Today I'm angry about.....
I originally put this in the food topic but developments got angry so I've moved it here.
Been out for lunch this afternoon. First thing out is a sandwich on a f*cking slate, followed by two burgers on wooden boards. I can't be doing with that bollocks at the best of times but I couldn't believe mine eyes when they brought out my pie and chips on a board with a side pot of gravy. What the juddering feck am I supposed to do with that?! Just use plates you tw*ts.
Speaking of objectively superior ways of eating, why on earth are chopsticks still a thing? Less stabby than a fork, less cutty than a knife and less scoopy than a spoon. I can understand how they might have developed independently, but globalisation is here now, you've seen knives and forks, you know which is better, so let's just settle this one, shall we?

In a world that has decided
That it's going to lose its mind
Be more kind, my friends, try to be more kind.

'twas. The ranting of a man with something to rant about aided by a lunchtime pint or two and gravy on his tie.Abdoulaye's Twin wrote:Top ranting Sir

Always remember those cast-iron sizzle plates as Smithills Coaching House. Talk about pleasure eating? It was more like trial by fire.
