OED has it as a prefix and includes under that semi-final (the sense I used). It doesn't have semi-erection but who cares? The word is understood by almost everyone. The OED does include slang terms and notes them as such - just didn't have this one.

Worryingly although he'd undoubtedly fair better on grass I don't reckon Murray could beat Nadal over 5 sets on that surface either as it stands....
