Currently 'The War on drugs' pretty good, also the new Boz Skaggs release. Smooth blues southern soul on a stick......................

I hope this wasn't ironic. I was just browsing some CD's at lunchtime and found one of theres for the whopping sum of 83p. So if it's rubbish I'm going to insist you reimburse me.Bruce Rioja wrote:

An all-time favourite band of mine, Beefy. However, some of their stuff wasn't particularly 'instant' shall we say for those not knowing what to expect. Which album is it?
May the bridges I burn light your way

'Attack of the Grey Lantern'. To be honest, I like listening to albums completely cold and not knowing what to expect. Especially when I can get them so cheaply!Bruce Rioja wrote:An all-time favourite band of mine, Beefy. I'll report back when I've given it a listen tonight.

Grey Lantern is a great album, but their magnus opus, 'Six' is definitely in my top 20 records ever made! Superb from start to finish.

Re: What are you playing tonight?
Oh I absolutely agree, Hotdog, but I also understand people not 'getting' Six too quickly. Especially if they've never heard anything by Mansun before. It's also not an album that you can snack at, but then why would anyone want to do that?!Dr Hotdog wrote:Grey Lantern is a great album, but their magnus opus, 'Six' is definitely in my top 20 records ever made! Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Quiet day at work with a bit of Tom Petty.
In a world that has decided
That it's going to lose its mind
Be more kind, my friends, try to be more kind.
That it's going to lose its mind
Be more kind, my friends, try to be more kind.
