Today I'm angry at a telecoms company in the sand pit. They have a near monopoly which probably explains their ineptness and ignorance of service. I'd take my business elsewhere, but the only other option is still on my shit list for screwing me over and not giving a shit. I'm getting to the stage when I'm looking forward to leaving this place

Probably not any time soon. The place is almost exclusively populated with dick heads and it gets me down sometimes. Knowledge of the weather between now and November doesn't help either.Lost Leopard Spot wrote:You going to desert the desert?Abdoulaye's Twin wrote:Today I'm angry at a telecoms company in the sand pit. Had a business meeting today with an old colleague who investigates insurance fraud. He's just finished looking at a number of cases that involve people claiming deafness through industrial injury, you've all seen the ads on TV. As the ambulance chasing bar stewards have now had their legal fees fixed at around 1200 quid per personal injury case, they are now chasing deafness and other industrial injuries that fall outside these rules. The last case he looked at this morning he reckons was typical. The guy claiming hearing loss after 30 years working in a steel foundry (Sounds fair comment to me and entirely possible) was awarded 4 grand. The legal bill was £72k. Fecking madness.

I'm used to produce being a bit shit here, but I'm getting particularly pissed off with potatoes. Aside from them usually being stored badly (meaning they go to mush very quickly), on a few occasions I have bought potatoes that you can't cook. By this I mean, you cook them and you cook them and they're never ready. I've just obliterated a baked potato and have had to change tack to beans on toast

Bemused rather than angry, but.....
How can your insurance quote go up (up, not down) if you replace "Parked on drive" with "kept in locked garage overnight" and keep every single other detail the same?

You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

The above post is complete bollox/garbage/nonsense, please point this out to me at any and every occasion possible.

They are a weird bunch. They change the parameters constantly. Although I'm happily down to £360 in Horwich from £650 when I was in Great Lever. If only I didn't have those pesky points...Lord Kangana wrote:Bemused rather than angry, but.....

We pay 3-5% of the value of the car. The downside is that it does mean you get 18 year olds driving V8 Dodge Chargers like it's Nascar

Sweeping statements: I'm angry that nobody called at our house and go my views on legalising drugs. Apparently, 67% of the population voted for a change of government policy. I must have been out when the survey folk called.

I really don't think you've got the concept of a survey.

Obviously not. They used to ask folks' opinions and then state how many they'd asked and what percentage said what, not claim such and such percent of the population want......Prufrock wrote:I really don't think you've got the concept of a survey.

I've no idea of what you're on about! What survey? Who's claiming what?TANGODANCER wrote:Obviously not. Re: Today I'm angry about.....
Then why claim I have no concept of a survey? On TV this morning (The Wright Stuff) they claimed that 67% of the population wanted a government re-think on legalising drugs. Educate me, and tell me where they got that figure from?Prufrock wrote:I've no idea of what you're on about! What survey? Who's claiming what?TANGODANCER wrote:Obviously not. Re: Today I'm angry about.....
I have no idea. From a survey I'd imagine.
You seem to think that they've not done a proper survey if they haven't asked you. That's not how survey's work.
So they didn't claim that 67% of the population have voted for a change in govt policy then?
