The above post is complete bollox/garbage/nonsense, please point this out to me at any and every occasion possible.
Re: Today I'm angry about.....
I don't get people...you'd think getting the deposit back would be significant enough incentive not to wreck a place. It certainly was for me and I always got my full deposit back (minus the cost of a couple of tester pots to cover marks on walls before we moved out).bwfcdan94 wrote:Stealing the boiler, all electrical appliances and cabling is apparently a popular one.bobo the clown wrote:mother in law used to work for an estate agents. Yeah, it's like they write it off and forget it's their money. Always got all of mine back, though had to pay for a share of a new door half-way through the year once after slightly over the top drunken japes. But we told the landlord and got it fixed; we didn't say nothing and hope he didn't fecking notice!
Heard a few stories down here of landlords taking the piss. Girlf had to start taking her first-year landlord through the arbitration thing they have after the landlord withheld it for no reason, and a couple of mates had to go all the way through to the hearing to get theirs back after their landlady tried to keep about £400 of their deposit because the microwave was broken. Her already *slightly* inflated claim was made more ridiculous by the fact it was their microwave!

Landlords here see deposits as a little bonus. They also expect you to paint the place before you move out. My landlord will be painting his own house when I move out though! The worst landlords here wont even maintain their property. There are some with garages sinking and they expect the tenant to fix it. Some really thick people out there!

Is this some kind of competition to see who are the biggest pricks on the planet?

Tony Blair is currently winning that particular contest.

Whatever his faults I'm still pretty happy with the statement, 'Tony Blair is less of a prick than the pricks in charge of ISIS'.

People who say they're going to do something. Then don't.
Just spent an hour waiting for some vital information to come back to me only to discover they didn't make the call. Actually, they did, but didn't get through, and didn't leave a message. Furthermore they didn't call me to tell me they hadn't got through.
I am 55 minutes away from a tender deadline with about 2 hours work still to do.
Today is NOT the day.

Indeed. The ones we have to do all come with a list of deciding factors including stuff like environmental impact. At the end of the day the tender with the lowest price and the most generous warranty will win. The rest of it counts for feck all.Abdoulaye's Twin wrote:Make it up. I've been on both sides of it, writing the things and evaluating them. Lots of bollocks on both sides of it, though I made sure when evaluating that price criteria was 40% or less of the overall. Made it easier to pick the best company rather than the cheapest.Bruce Rioja wrote:

The UK fecking Borders Agency. After a long ongoing saga, trying to get a visa for my friend and her 2 year old son to visit from Belarus, she finally got an email to say her passport had arrived back for collection in Minsk, from the processing office which is now in Moscow.
Her flight is on Saturday. Along she went to the embassy, to be told "Come back at 2". At 2 she was told "Come back at 4". At 4 she was given her passport with visa. No sign of her son's. If it doesn't get here tomorrow, her trip will have to be put back or cancelled.
Incompetence at its best.

Burra Bar
Don't go there. Thought I'd have a change for lunch. Just paid £4.75 for a small burrito. I'm in Bury not the feckin West End
For a quid cheaper I'd have been better off with the usual humongous ciabattas from Katsouri's

You'd probably better get that looked at as the blade in question will no doubt have been rusty due to chronic under-use, you being a scruffy bastard and that.KeyserSoze wrote:Myself!
