Oh. That's OK then.thebish wrote: i doubt coming off at 80MPH on a bike would be all that much different to coming off at 70MPH... equally dead!

trick is - not to come off at 70 OR 80... it's why bikers are now all trained pretty rigourously...Bruce Rioja wrote:Oh. That's OK then.thebish wrote: i doubt coming off at 80MPH on a bike would be all that much different to coming off at 70MPH... equally dead!

Surely a thoroughly rigorous training would simply involve Lesson 1: don't ride a bike?

Fair enough. On you go. Your training will prevent drivers from misjudging your speed and pulling out in front of you when you're riding at a trained speed. fecking Hell, Bish. No it won't prevent it, I've had a knob pull out on me at 15mph, usual thing 'sorry mate didn't see you', never saw the brick a couple of miles further down the road eitherBruce Rioja wrote:Fair enough. Thing is I find now that people are too cosseted in cars with mp3's, ipods, phones and worst of all passengers and do not concentrate properly. Not sexist but young girls/women texting as they drive is the no 1 thing I see, they live by the feckin' text message.
Go on be honest, take the test, make a note of how many times you actually check all your mirrors and around you under different driving conditions, I'd bet on the M-Way the only time the mirror is checked regular is when getting close to overtaking.

Re: Today I'm angry about.....
Over here in Quebec you don't see many solo bikers. On Summer weekends they come out in packs and drive up the autoroutes to the country. They always drive at or below the speed limit. The only hazard they represent is they may make us nervous because you don't want to piss off 20 bikers by doing something annoying. In the city, of course, it is the cyclists who are the menace not bikers. Over 50% of cyclists flagrantly ignore all the rules of the road which involve stopping (stop signs and red lights). So very few ton up boys in Quebec, though it may be different further West.

Crazy days when I was in 'The Deaths Head' chapter of the hells angels.
Knife fights, chain fights, robberies, drugs and sex. Surprised I am still alive.

Same here (Only I check mine regularly). Logged out but can't log back in. They've had months to set this up - they've been crowing about it for long enough. Re: Today I'm angry about.....
I have recently, been increasingly troubled with anger management issues. Strangely enough not just on here but in the real world of work and home. Prompted in part by timely police intervention I finally got around to doing something about it last week, but not in time to prevent any further outbursts on here. I’m not going to read what has been put since nor write any further on the subject that prompted my abusive posts because that part is irrelevant, except to say I apologise for any snide, nasty, vicious, outrageous, or intemperate language I have employed.
My general rage has been building for months now, and even as I type this, (in an outwardly seeming very calm state) I have an overwhelming feeling of enragement about ‘things’. It doesn’t matter what things, they can change on a daily basis, but the rage just builds relentlessly. In part it probably (although not necessarily) has a physical clinical cause, something I’ve known about for some time now, but have been reluctant to do anything about because it requires a decision which is quite frankly daunting and something I’ve been putting off making - I have however decided that something needs doing about it, and I await a date.
When the date arrives I will be taking a longer break from here than the one that was imposed as a two day ban whilst I get it sorted. When I come back I hope to be a more even tempered person.

Thanks Spotty. You're rants are always entertaining but the personal abuse thing was out of the norm. I don't pretend to understand what you're going through but I respect the courage it's taken to admit something like this. When you do take a break (and I hope it's a short one) remember to come back and that you've had some fun on here too and most people genuinely enjoy your e-company. I can't say more than that except that I hope whatever issues you have a re small ones and soon remedied.

I think we were all taken aback by your outburst, but also knew it wasn't the real Spotty we've come to know. Wish you all the best with it and hope you get back to your old self soon.

I think that old Hermes the Enfield has pretty much nailed it there, Spotty. All the best in what you're doing, Fella. Of course, the true test of success or failure will be when you find one of us sat in your seat, e-cigging on down.

Sorry to hear that Spotty but please don't treat yourself too harshly. When I had issues on here you were the first person to notice/care that I had left and that meant a lot to me.
