Re: Abdoulaye's going t'Souk transfer thread
He had links of some sort, as said, with Beckfrod, Danns, Dervitte, Buttercup, Moritz & now Moxey.
He tried with that Australian type and also with Parr and another I can't quite recall .... so he has some form for it.
Nothing necessarily wrong with that of course &, interestingly it does suggest that players do like/respect him otherwise it'd be once bitten twice shy.

This new youth team keeper was with him at Palace too wasn't he? That one has a ring of that Burnley kid we got and then never heard from.
As with anything, I suppose it depends if they're good enough.

Re: Abdoulaye's going t'Souk transfer thread
To be fair a lot of managers do this - didn't Bruce Rioch sign plenty from Millwall/Boro (Branagan, Davidson, the oddly-named Gary Parkinson, ex-Wanderer Jimmy Phillips and some chap called McGinlay, off the top of my head. And failed with bids for Alex Rae, Ettiene Verveer and Bernie Slavin....)Bruce Rioja wrote:I'm detecting shades of Coyle fetching all his old shit along with him here.malcd1 wrote:So, it looks like Dean Moxey is due to sign for us today. That is left back sorted.
Can I just say that this is probably the best transfer thread in the history of transfer threads (much better than those other useless ones).
So I think we could possibly wait to see how they pan out this season before branding them all with the Coyle mark.

Palace mate popped by yesterday to say that Parr's a good un, excellent for the Champo, unlucky not to be playing now. We didn't discuss Moxey, but ISTR from a quick askaround when we were linked that he, too, is worth a go.
Maybe we used Parr to knock down Moxey's wage demands..

In fact, didn't Parr lose his place to Moxey last season ?Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:Palace mate popped by yesterday to say that Parr's a good un, excellent for the Champo, unlucky not to be playing now. tbf, Parr looked like a good 'un but also tbf to DF he clearly decided we couldn't go another season begging, stealing & borrowing without a proper left back. I wonder if it's a sign that Tierney is more damaged than is being admitted.

Three years. Tierney will be injured for a further 3 years ??Bruce Rioja wrote:TRANSFER NEWS: Bolton Wanderers have completed the signing of full-back Dean Moxey on a three-year deal.

Re: Abdoulaye's going t'Souk transfer thread

I blame Auf Weidersein Pet for me thinking he's scouse. Wiki says he's not, but it does contain this gem, describing him as:
"a left sided player comfortable at left back; he can also can play as a goalkeeper, sweeper and striker"

And I like that keeper is second on that list.

Re: Abdoulaye's going t'Souk transfer thread
Sky sources understand Bolton have rejected a bid from Mainz for goalkeeper Adam Bogdan. He is entering the final year of his contract at Bolton but Dougie Freedman is reluctant to lose him.

I wonder what was the bid? We may have to sell to prevent losing him for nothing next season if we do not go up.

Pretty sure he's said he fancies a move to the Premier League so I'm not sure he'd sign another contract with us.

Re: Abdoulaye's going t'Souk transfer thread
If it was any sort of money offered for Bogdan I'd be really tempted to take it, if it helped get Juke and possibly a further striker on top.
As it stands I don't believe we have enough to mount a challenge on the top 6.
We are two strikers short, might get by with loans so arguably one might be enough. They don't come cheap.
Bogdan had a poor first half and good second half of the season. I don't think he's the difference as it stands between being top 6 and being nowhere, but a striker might just be......

I think Parr suffered an injury. Moxey sounds quite versatile:bobo the clown wrote:In fact, didn't Parr lose his place to Moxey last season ?Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:Palace mate popped by yesterday to say that Parr's a good un, excellent for the Champo, unlucky not to be playing now.
