Dunno whether it's just coz my room isn't all that big, but mine seems fine to me.
I suppose it could just be the onset of old bastardness for me. I'm at the stage where I have to hold stuff with small text up next to the window to have any hope of reading it :(
That's the fella. Then there's the magnifying glass....

At the same wattage ours are brighter and more efficient than incandescent bulbs. Never tried LEDs

I've one of those LED bulbs that you can change colour and brightness using an app. I feel a nice person for buying it, but it does go very bright. Not worth the money btw. A regular LED bulb is much cheaper and just as effective.

Just feck off - you're shite.
A few years ago my then energy supplier sent me a box of them. I tried one before returning the remainder with a note I put in the box which read 'Kindly don't darken my house again'. :)
It is a known fact the people need more light the older you get. That of course means you are getting on a bit. :D

I also got a few boxes of free low wattage bulbs. Some are very good (equivalent to 'normal' bulbs) while others take ages to warm up. The ones in my kitchen take at least 5 minutes to get to full brightness. Very annoying.

You need a white stick with the fckrs I have in the dining room. Take about 15 minutes to warm up. On of the big cons of the green age.

Ours are CFL (compact fluorescent lightbulbs). According to my service provider these save almost as much as LEDs. Savings of 75% versus 80% compared to incandescent bulbs. There is no delay beyond a second for these to reach full brightness.

I know how much Pru loves Virgin Trains corporate wackiness, so I thought I'd share their hilarious options for 'reason for travelling' I noticed as I was booking some tickets to London: That's for me to know, Hanging with Friends, Seeing the Family, On My Hols, Day Tripping, Retail Therapy, Event, Working 9-5, On Business, To/From Uni, Something Completely Different.

Don't. I had a bit of a rant on Facebook about that last time I booked trains, and, weirdly, have just nearly lost my shit again as I booked trains to go home ten mins ago.

Took me almost 3 hours to go between Bolton & South Chester today .... & I avoided the worst traffic jams. Every single road was blocked. M61, M62, M6, M56, A55, A483 all at standstills. I took A-roads and they were chewed up by cars doing what I did.

I have no idea what the fck was going on but it was a complete mess.

Virgin are now putting a bid together to run UK Cancer Services in this brave new Tory world where the NHS is absolutely not being sold off piecemeal - no - not at all....

Retook exam today, it was much more difficult then the original and despite having done lots of revision I did not finish it. I get the results in a few weeks and tbh I think there is more chance of Bolton being promoted then me having passed this exam :hang:.
The above post is complete bollox/garbage/nonsense, please point this out to me at any and every occasion possible.

Took our Maud six hours to drive the 140 miles from Cheltenham. Wireless festival in Birmingham her best guess.

It already has been. All private providers are allowed to fly the NHS logo, and are not required to simultaneously show their own. Its happened, the battle has been lost. Nobody ever notices, then wonder why things are f*cked when its too late.

There's some interesting politics in the background of this story. Last year, the gov't created Commissioning Support Units to help the new clinical commissioning groups buy appropriate services.

They have been a huge failure as their services and expertise were so poor, no one has wanted to use their services. They have now been forced to become social enterprise companies and generate their own income. How better to do this than charge huge consultancy fees to private sector health care companies and ongoing management charges to sustain themselves. This is the thin end of a health insurance wedge.

The support units were merely comprised of staff displaced from PCTs. Forced to move to a self funding service model. They were always meant to become social enterprise companies so that the government could get thousands of staff outside of the NHS pension scheme.

People tend to forget also that GPs are private businesses and not technically public servants....
