Having swum in Cuban waters on occasion I believe it to be a needlefish



They are various sizes - the ones close to shore quite small.

my dad snapped this on holiday in Cuba. People were saying it might be a barracuda/marlin/swordfish, but it looks like none of those to me. Any ideas?

That is Radcliffe canal & it's a pike.

There are different kinds of needlefish and different sizes. Compare KS's pic with the one I posted - the mouth is similar.

Does anybody have their newspapers delivered any more? I used to do a teatime round (for the Evening News) and two rounds on Saturday. Used to fly round except on magazines day when posh folk got Woman's Own, Woman's Realm and Woman's Weekly etc. Very few men were brave enough to have Tit Bits delivered through the letterbox.

Must have been a job for the newsagents sorting everything out after the van had been with the days papers.

i did a paper round weekend mornings for about two years. plus occasional weekday shifts if required. my patch was 2 mile ride away n'all! sunday paper bags were heavy as fuk! then i got a saturday job on Bolton Market when i was 15. kids these days eh! pffft dont do a days work till well into their twenties!

Door to door. He gets up at 5.00 am and is finished about 8.30. And he gets more holidays than I do.

Door to door. He gets up at 5.00 am and is finished about 8.30. And he gets more holidays than I do.

Fair do's to him. No need to pay for expensive gym membership and he gets paid at the end of the week.
