I've just invented a new tea.

You know that Lapsang Souchong has a smoky, pine flavour as it's dried over pine leaves ? That Earl Grey has the added flavour of bergamot ?

Well, I've made TCP tea.

It may grow on me.

I too have a new invention - not a type of tea - but a way to drink it. I like my tea strong - proper strong - stain your teeth strong! last week (not for the first time) i accidentally left the teabag in the cup after making it. glorious - it just got stronger and stronger!!

now - i'm finding it acceptable to leave the bag in the mug - not by accident!

Luciano's at the Millstone on Saturday night for the Grandparents Diamond Wedding Anniversary.

To start I had duck terrine which was OK, and she had crab and prawn thermidor which was fab, and which I stole lots of.

Mains were rump steak in a mushroom and red wine sauce; and monkfish for her.

Washed down with a few pints of flat cap.

Disappointed that a bad case of man-flu meant I couldn't taste it properly, because what I could was really nice. Also, a day's worth of Strepsils made the flat cap taste weird. I thought it was off, but Dad reckons it was ok, just a bit cold.

Fillet steak with duck eggs. Oh yes. I'd taken it out the freezer at weekend but didn't get round to it. Sadly no accompanying vino due to an early(ish) flight. Ah well.

Ate at 'the Big Easy' Crab and BBQ Shack in Covent Garden.

I chose crab claws ... 6 came, & big uns too. With a picking stick and shell crackers and accompanied by a butter & mustard dip. Then the night's special ... ' Never ending' Tempura Tiger Prawns with chips, Fries, coleslaw and dips. 8 good sized prawns initially. "Would sir like any more ?" .... sir bloody would, thanks. Another 7 came. Once scoffed ... "would sir like any more ?". No thanks, truly stuffed. Along with a beer and water the bill was £29 including a tip.

Highly recommended.
