What are you eating and drinking tonight?

If you have a life outside of BWFC, then this is the place to tell us all about your toilet habits, and those bizarre fetishes.......

Oh, & I forgot. Great blues music throughout.

This has the makings of a 'the Wanderer' meeting place.

Meanwhile, on a different tack, Lady Clown has discovered the delights of Rose Petals jam. Basically a spreadable Turkish Delight Quite a treat.

Sounds good to me.

Today I had chicken smothered in garlic butter; spot of salt, pepper and parsley; wrapped in Serrano ham, and served on steamed mangetout and babycorn drizzled with olive oil and lime juice. Looks amazing, tastes amazing, takes 10 mins tops, plus half an hour in the oven.

We are growing garlic. it's doing well. we will shortly be pressing it into the hands of passing strangers, so desperate will we be vto get rid...

But today my partner discovered a recipe for pesto made with garlic scapes...

http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/ ... sto-395769" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

She then did home made pasta (lovely) and coated thoroughly with the pesto...

Was served with fresh grated parmesan... and beaujolais...

We absolutely stink of garlic...

Pud was more of the wimberry pie worshipped in my previous post above... :D

Did they make you wear a plastic bib, Bobo? I've seen a few photos of people there accompanying their similarly glowing reviews, but haven't made it there myself yet. Did you have to wait long?

No wait at all .... but I think I was fortunate as there was a fair queue as I left.

There is a monstrous bar there btw, so waiting shouldn't be too painful. Over 500 whiskies. Almost a work of art in itself.

Yes, a bib was produced. Not really necessary tbh so it came off after a few minutes.

Spent the afternoon out in the sunshine scouting plants and stuff in Farnworth (like we have n't got enough already from Bolton Market to do a remake of Tarzan of the Apes). Upshot was, there a little bakery on lower Market Street down by The Victoria pub that do these home-baked flat-cap barm cakes. They're huge. None of your Greenhalghs' or Greggs, just a little bakers shop that smells delightful inside. Weather was stonking hot and to save the wife cooking we finished up having B.L.T's on said barms and a San Miguel. Delightful... :D

Morrisons used to do these awesome spicy bean burgers, but I can't get them anymore. They've replaced them with 'crispmelts', breadcrumbs on the outside then either brie, caramelised onion and mushroom, or sweet potato sun-dried tomato and mozzarella. Both sounded ace, and tasted shit. Boo.

Not keen on Sauvignon Blanc (I know - peasant tastes). Albarino for me if a white. Pinot noir if red.

I actually had an easy, cheap, refreshing Touraine from Aldi.

Very acceptable and not overpowering for the food.

Touraine is a sauvignon blanc, isn't it?

Anyway - rice and fish is a brilliant combination and monkfish paella is one that I love to cook. And eat.
