Were we on telly at all last season?

Aye. The first game against Burnley was on telly as part of that league birthday party thing.

It was also part of that worst start in 100 years thing too.

You know, I don't remember either of those games. You know when people say 'Oooh, I remember that like it was last Tuesday'? Well I've no idea what I was doing last Tuesday.

Anyhow, I see that Sky are showing games from the Eredivisie next season, and such is my love of all things Netherlandic I might be up for a few games.

The great news is, if we have another piss poor start, it'll only be the worst start for a year. That's gotta be an improvement.

Unless it's _really_ bad....

Which, in a way, would be good - it's always nice seeing history unfold.

Was anyone else disappointed when we got the goal against Reading? We should have created a new worst away defeat, not merely equaled one. If you're going to do these things, no point in half measures.

No we partied like it was new years eve, our fans made more noise in the 2 minutes following that goal then Reading fans made all game, the useless b**tards. So hope we win there this season, beating them in the 2nd leg of the play off final after drawing at home in the 1st leg would more than make up for it for me.
The above post is complete bollox/garbage/nonsense, please point this out to me at any and every occasion possible.

I was conflicted. Having your worst away defeat against a no mark club like Reading is a pretty scummy achievement, having it against Villa is at least against a club of the same vintage as us.

On the other hand for Freedman to bag another unique record to go with the worst ever start to a season would have been something to chuckle about in years to come when the sour memories have faded.

I've always held it to be a Boltonian trait that memory is long.

Obviously time passes and people age and younger, untainted, people arrive. So the words 'Johnny' and 'Aston' don't have the same impact as once upon a time but he was hated decades after people remember precisely why.

Maybe "Jim Magilton" is a better current example (current being 14 years ago) and 'he who shall not be named', the one with the whistle and the note book with only right hand page in it.

Though imagine being a Wolves fan (I know, too horrible to contemplate) and hearing "John McGinley" .... or even the words "just a wee push".

I can't, it's impossible: I cannot think in Brummie. It's like trying to do a Welsh accent and coming out all indian sounding, I start to think in Brummie and come out all moronic (or idiotic, or whatever the medical term is for someone with an IQ less than 50). So I'm congenitally incapable of imaging being a Wolves fan... thank God.

They're not Brummies, they're Black Country yamyams, but the principle is the same.

We beat them in a play off final, I am proud of the 4 F.A cups we have won but talking about something that went on in the 20s and the 60s is generally uncool
