this lunchtime during circuits class I learned a valuable lesson. Don't skip the breakfast in your diet!

Yum, acidy!

Stopped after the first circuit, could barely see. Big lunch down and I'm fine now, so will add an extra bike session tonight. All good.

5k in 24.20. Given it's 26° down here I don't think that's too bad.

Not bad Pru.

I did 8 miles as part of my training. 4 miles out and back. Lost 4 pounds.

Not to interfere with all you super athletes, but I was in Bolton this morning and saw the Iron Kids having fun. Hundreds of em of all sizes with parents, minders and just people out for a fun run setting off from the Crescent. Great thing to see....keep it up kids... :)

Wow. You deserve one of these  for even considering it. I know a few who have done it and a few who registered but either not made the start line or had to drop out. Watching all the foreigners on middlebrook yesterday I wondered how many stump up for registration, flights & accommodation for them and family and then get injured during the intense months of training. Must be a real pi55er

Good stuff, I'll give you a shout! A few mates of mine did it, one of them a 40 year old who a year ago did no more than the odd 10k. Not a natural athlete and packing a few pounds too many, what he achieved was spectacular. Gone from relatively unknown club nice guy to Harriers legend.

And Tango, my niece and nephew did Ironkids, loved it. Its a great event all round. I keep hoping the Bolton Marathon will be resurrected, but no sign of it yet.

Fell race tonight. No 3 in a series of 4. Extremely hot and I struggled again in the last couple of miles. Time to up the training now I reckon.

On the upside, had a lovely tea in the pub afterwards :pissed:

Almost a week into my ahem, 'healthy eating' and decided today that I need to supplement my attempts at weight loss with a little exercise. I haven't done any running in months, but came home from work, changed and straight out for a bit of fartlek. Managed almost 5.5 miles (admittedly slightly more walking than running) and am now chilling after a cold shower and a tea of falafel, houmous, cous cous and a tomato and onion salad, washed down with a large lime and soda. Just need something for my aching legs now!
