When we made the subs, did we take our strike force off for midfielders, to protect our 1-0 lead?

I know someone just posted them, but in case you didn't want to leave the page...
Re: Pre season friendlies at Macc, Preston, Tranmere and Dal
Enjoyed both games:
Rochdale: I thought we looked superb going forward, in particular through Liam Feeney although Danns and Hall looked sharp too, Rochdale really couldn't handle Feeney on the right and we will be in for a treat if he can play the way he did Tuesday, on a regular basis for us. Connor Wilkinson's goal in particular was superb, he really looks like one for the future for me, he led the line well when he came on and was much more lively than Beckford. Are main problem was that our defenders tried playing it out from the back and time and time again we gave the ball the away on the edge of our own area, it was a miracle Dale didn't score tbh. I was delighted to see us take 1200 fans to Spotland, we outnumbered Rochdale fans 2-1. Rochdale was a sh*thole
Tranmere: Don't think we looked so good at Tranmere and as expected we didn't take nearly as many fans as we did too Dale. Spearing's goal was superb and again I thought young Connor Wilkinson looked good when he came on. But again it was our defence who let us down. First half an hour we were undoubtedly on top but Tranmere really began to grow into it and 2nd half just generally looked more up for it. it's clear that Dougie has some work to do with the defence as we are going to be in for another mediocre season if we he doesn't. As for Birkenhead, what can I say, it was on a par with Burnley, horrible place, in fact I think we should declare Birkenhead independent from the rest of England.
Really enjoyed myself though and it did give me a big lift, really looking forward to Watford now.
Pssst: in regards to the Melbourne City game I should mention that Aaron Mooy lad who I said was the bollocks turned up and raped the reserves on our own pitch, I think Dougie should try to re-sign him

Probably meant to say "Graped" as there were a bunch of them.

destroyed, obliterated. I have spent to long working with young people from Bracknell and to long going to football with young people from Bolton. it's just that rape is something serious - and there are plenty of other words to use for what you are trying to say. to use the word "rape" in the context of a football team beating another football team (again, in my opinion) trivializes rape. the word "rape" (unless discussing rape-seed crops) should only be used to mean what it (horrifically) means.bwfcdan94 wrote:destroyed, obliterated. Oh no I totally agree with you, hence using two other examples in the post that followed. It's how "the youth" of today talk, doesn't make it right or wrong but it does generally trivialise the word and means it loses it's meaning. I will try to avoid using it in posts in future.

This might be a bit early but I normally get a train to Horwich. Saw that there's no trains to Horwich for the Arnhem game. Some kind of bus sounds like the way forward! Anyone know if it's better to get a train ticket and go on the rail-replacement or are there match day buses or normal buses? Anyone know the best course of action?

No trains calling at Horwich between 19th July and 31st August apparently.

Re: Pre season friendlies at Macc, Preston, Tranmere and Dal
There is no service between Bolton and Preston at weekends because they are doing works on the Chorley tunnel. I would presume rail replacement service would be cheaper but the match day bus would be quicker/less hassle.

Any news on Andy Kellet? He was class in the two games I saw at the end of last season. Not heard his name at all during pre-season.
Re: Pre season friendlies at Macc, Preston, Tranmere and Dal
good question... he was academy player of the year 2011/12 - and I think he had an assist for Dannzy_#1's goal against Birmingham...

Was wondering the same thing today, he didn't play against Chorley and I haven't seen him involved in the first team games either.Vertigo wrote:Any news on Andy Kellet? He was class in the two games I saw at the end of last season. Not heard his name at all during pre-season.
Maybe he's got an injury?

Not a pre-season friendly but there's works going on somewhere on the train route to Watford when we play there so the train journey has a few extra changes and a replacement bus service in there.Burnden Paddock wrote:No trains calling at Horwich between 19th July and 31st August apparently.

Not that I'm losing too much sleep over it but have we sold Odelusi ?
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.
