Baby bobo passed his driving test today. Very happy about that. I know all the down sides but as he goes to live in that London in 4 weeks time he won't be looking to actively use it for a while .... & to be fair it was this month or in some years to come therefore. But it's tucked in hus belt and on his cv forever now. Great stuff.

My children are both mature adults now, bobo, (40 & 37) but I still worry about them when they're on the road. Son and his wife have just returned from a trip over to Adelaide and a bit of touring around S.A. to boot. Daughter drives to work each day. If she's working a late shift - knock-off time about 21:30 - the ladies are escorted to their cars by the council's security guards. You never stop worrying, bobo, so you'd best get used to it.

Oh yes, congratulations to the young fellow.

A few weeks ago Mrs G & I started volunteering at the animal sanctuary at Bleakholt. I've been off work since Friday, so had 4 days of walking many of their homeless pooches. Abandoned and unwanted dogs would usually upset me, but they do such a good job of looking after them here, it's a real pleasure to get them outside for a bit of exercise and a break from all the barking.

Today the sun was shining and the dogs were all in a playful mood it just made for a lovely morning. Even the little bugger that tore a hole in the pocket of my expensive running jacket to get at the biscuits, couldn't upset me :D

Today I'm happy about...... the amount of bees in my garden - it's a battle just to put the bins out. I've been stung so often that I look like a pox Doctor's receptionist. :D

^ Back in the 70's I worked with one scruffy git! He turned up for work one day and the boss said to him 'Look at the state of you. You look like a pox doctors clerk!" He was ever more known simply as PD.

If you're worried, grow some Laurel. They love Laurel.

Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

Didn't know that L.K, but we have plenty flowers, bees enough...and a sizeable laurel bush in the garden.

Ten quid? From U.S. $ 1.55 here. U.S $10.40 in the UK.

Although I occasionally read the Dandy (more of a Beano reader back then) I had never heard of Black Bob. Seemingly I missed something. I'll have to check around.

He was a wonder sheepdog, almost human. A sort of canine version of Skippy the bush kangaroo.

it rained most of the day here - but turned into a beautiful mild sunny evening - so I toddled off for a quick paddle in the old sea-kayak...

drifted around and relaxed offshore from paignton for a while and watched the sun go down...
