Where are you going tonight?

If you have a life outside of BWFC, then this is the place to tell us all about your toilet habits, and those bizarre fetishes.......

I shall put this in here. It hasn't anything to do with where I'm going tonight (which is staying in) but it is to do with where plenty of us on here do like to go.

Well done Th'Octagon on securing £2m funding from the Arts Council. Hurrah :oyea:

^ That is fantastic news! And they shall be receiving a further boost to the coffers when I stump up for three gold season tickets shortly.

It is good news - but it needs to stretch over three years, and is, i think, standstill funding. So support has remained at the same level as the last three years (so it will be six years when it comes time to negotiate the next tranche).

But, at a time when the Arts council has cut 45 organisations that is a cause for celebration.

I would think so. I bet he is still barred from all the pubs.

Are you meeting in a park and did Bobo ask you to bring a bottle of wine in a brown paper bag?

Strangely passed without incident, he's on his way now and I'm apparently still welcome in The Old Original Bay Horse. Yesterday's news!

Errr...last night actualy; But went to watch Al Stewart. Just him and a sidekick called Dave Nachmanoff, two acoustic guitars and a huge heap of top tunes, especially an extended flamenco type version of 'On the Border'. (It's a bit spanishy anyway). Fantastic stuff .

Last week I went for my surprise birthday prezzie the girlf got me to go see Derren Brown live. I've always been a little obsessed with him, loved his TV show, adored his book.

The show was good, he's an absolutely fabulous showman, the personification of charisma, and I enjoyed it, but it just felt a bit 'too' far. Having read so much about how he does certain tricks, there were things in it that had to be stooges. I know he says he doesn't use them, but he also says he lies to you and some of the 'explanations' he's given for how he does certain things I know have been lies (and some I know have been true).

It's worth seeing him just for the way he talks about reason and evidence and dismisses the arcane, and the girlf absolutely loved it, but I dunno, I think I'd just built it up so much that it couldn't live up to expectations.

I wouldn't want to put anyone off. If you want a good show, he is absolutely your man!

He writes most of his stuff with my friend's brother, Andy Nyman

Never met Derren Brown in person but I've spoken to Andy few times. Nice bloke.

Oooh, interesting. After the show I went onto a Derren Brown forum where they basically said of this last show that, whilst it wasn't as good as his early ones, it was much better than his last couple. They generally seemed to attribute this to having Andy Nyman back writing with him after he'd not been involved for a bit whilst concentrating on his own TV stuff.

I get the impression Andy is his 'Johnathan Creek' Talented clever bloke. He co-wrote and stars in this, too (which is getting rave reviews)
