Re: Today I'm angry about.....
Ex-feck*-zactly. One day all those little holes in the ground are going to reach critical mass on some public footpath and erosion will occur, possibly with some fecker breaking an ankle. Whenever I go walking and I catch sight of the tell tale little holes freshly made (they have liitle dribbles of dirt next to them that old ones don't) it also means I'm about to catch up and have to manipulate an overtaking manoeuvre around some peanut brained idiot wielding a lethal weapon who's trying to stand upright and hobble forwards at the same time.thebish wrote:Nordic poles...
farrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr too many of them. Look Mister - just stop it. you're not Nordic Walking - you're just poking the ground with two sticks.

Irritated and amazed .... doing some serious chucking out in my house clearance. Nay probs, there's a "civic amenity" in Blackrod. Pile bag after bag, box after box in the car. Couple of miles, job's done.
Only, there isn't. Its closed.
Ah, so where's the nearest ? Somewhere in Horwich ... no. In Westhoughton .... no. It's at Raikes Lane, near the old Burnden. Amazing ... & way to go in avoiding people fly-tipping boys.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Well, Wrexham ended up taking it. Bi-lingually probably.

Salford don't mind, coz the one that used to be in Walkden, is now the other side of the border in Bolton...Harry Genshaw wrote:It's been closed ages!! Re: Today I'm angry about.....
Ticket Offices. Again.
For years I have gone to Wembley Arena to purchase tickets at their Box Office. The tradition is they have 'walk ups' set aside for people who wish to purchase directly from the box office rather than through an agency. Some of the better seats are set aside too. I've been second row for Rush and Front row for Styx, Foreigner and Journey in recent years using this method.
Today it changed. Today I rocked up to buy tickets for my daughter for a concert next March for a band I don't particularly care for (and spectacularly fail to understand how they can fill a 12,500 seater stadium), only to be told they don't do 'venue hold' tickets anymore since they were taken over and owned and operated by O2. Furthermore the reserved seats policy no longer applied AND I still had to pay the handling fee of £5.00 per ticket whether I had them delivered or e-mailed!
So 4 face value tickets of £27.50 plus £5.00 handling fee has cost me £130.00 and is in a shitty location up in the gods on a Friday night for a band I don't even f*cking like!

Re: Today I'm angry about.....
Ouch. It really really f*cks me off that. It's bad enough that they include a piss-take 'handling fee' at all, but they rub in how much they're mugging you off by making it an add-on. If you're going to take an extortionate cut for doing f*ck all, at least have the grace to include it in the ticket price. To charge you the same add-on for posting out the tickets as they do when you print them off yourself does my head in too. I always click by post. If I'm paying for it, you can at least do something to 'earn' it.
Cheeky bastards.

I wasn't so mithered last time as I got good seats but even that 'privilege' has been revoked. Just another example of declining customer service.

It's because all the first dibs go to o2 mobile customers via the "moments" app thingy

Neither did I. Won't be wasting time and petrol driving down there again, anyway. And I guess those people behind the counter are largely redundant too.

Re: Today I'm angry about.....
Flying Ant day. I read that this is short-lived and precision based between nearby nests and needs particular dry, windless, warm conditions. Well, in my garden it appears to be today. Fckg hundreds of then from at least 3 nests. I noticed massive numbers of small, typical, workers exiting first .... followed by the big, winged variety. Also large numbers of blackbirds & thrushes gorging themselves silly.
Doors & windows shut, washing brought in & several kettle's boiled.
They are NOT coming inside the house.
This is fascinating ... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nuptial_flight" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Interesting, bobo. On another site I frequent a chap who, I think, lives down south from you commented on the same subject. It must then have been the right conditions over a wide area.
Re: Today I'm angry about.....
Been sent to Ipswich to work on a public sector audit this week (despite me telling my resource co-ordinator last year I wouldn't ever do one again), I genuinely do think this is a coincidence and isn't be being shafted for handing in my notice, but when I got here I found that the council don't have a reception, they have an 'InfoBar' so I think that has pushed me over the edge.

Windows 8 - it had a complete and utter brain fart on my laptop today. Spent the last 5 hours recovering data and trying to get Windows 8 to work again. Got the data, given up on Windows 8 and put 7 Basic on it. Complete waste of a day

Oohh, me, me next.
Firstly, what the flying f*ck is a resource co-ordinator?
