Or even four failures, Cloughie sacked at Hartlepool, did nowt at Coventry, ballsed up at Brighton and at Leeds. Yet one of the best managers ever.
You can hardly blame him for that - he never managed there... :D

which is why he did nowt... although he left Derby to go and manage there and then went back to Derby without as it were managing, which, DSB, must be the epitome of doing nowt (shirley)?
That's not a leopard!

Mills definitely. Ream definitely.
Mills? Less shit than he was originally. Still shit.

Ream? We've dropped down a league - and he's still shit.

Well done, Dougie.
This is what's really twisting my nipples about the situation. We've re-signed 3 centre halves who were pretty unanimously damned as why our defence was so shit. Our defence still seems to be a massive issue, some would say "still shit". Bizarrely enough, its the same bloody players. Who are now still here, just on longer contracts. I actually quite like David Wheater. That is, if he still exists.

If you mean his brother David, who took the bucket-Shakers down last term, there's not much on his CV that would make me prefer him to his erstwhile No.1 Keith Hill, who's got two promotions and a few play-off appearances under his belt. And yes, you and I are apparently choosing between managers sacked by Barnsley. But at least they're Bolton-born managers, and when have we ever had success with Scots? :D
Didn't Blackwell take them down the year before? I thought Flitcroft came in last year & steadied the ship. Could be wrong though :conf:

You're right - I thought it was just last season they went down, the memory is still so delightfully fresh.

Well, that's certainly a lesson teaching not to type posts in a hurry as you dash out. I sounded like a proper cretin.

I don't expect Gary Flitcroft to get it, but I want someone who might be good. Surprised he is still there after two promotions without a penny whilst his brother, much the lesser player has had jobs higher up. Don't know much about David Flitcroft other than it makes me homesick when he;s interviewed on the FLS.

Take the point that one failure doesn't a terrible manager make but I want inspiration!

Gary Flitcroft the Super-Injunction Trailblazer's Super White Army! With his marquee signing Eidur Gudjohnsen!

David was working in football and coaching at a decent level while Gary was doing property stuff. Then he started at Leigh, got some experience and got the job at Chorley. I'd be amazed if he doesn't get a decent move up this season. I'd be even more amazed if it were with us. Rather have him than David Hockaday though.
All that tabloid stuff is history and nothing I'd want to judge a man on. He's a decent guy and a Bolton fan who would come and watch us while he was playing for City and Blackburn. Not yet though, he'll do in 2 years after the next one fails!

See I thought he was a Bolton fan but read somewhere that he was a City supporter. Sounds like you know him LE? I couldn't give a toss about that tabloid stuff, but I know how big a job the Chorley job was when he took over. Hemmings had basically given up and just keeping them existing would have been a success. They're now two leagues higher.

I agree I can't see him ending up here this time round though.

I've met him a few times but don't know him. Good friend of a friend, whose opinion I value.
